Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

Hello it is me, again. The people at work are still taking the opportunity to Retaliate against me for watching your play. I laughed so much, that it cause problems for me in the female tent. I do not regret watching your movie, because I needed a GOOD LAUGH, at this time. I THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING. Now my name is be Slander, and I am trying to keep my job. Mr. Perry I LOVE all of your movies and plays, and will continue to watch them. Mostly all of your GODLY MESSAGES in your plays hit home with me. Madea Gets a Job, and mine is trying to be taken away from me. I know that no man can take away from me, what GOD gives to me. If so, I know that GOD will open a BETTER DOOR.

My husband just got me into your movies two weeks ago and I loved your movies since then. Tonight I just watch Medea gets a job, and so far this is my third movie and my favorite. I love this quote of yours “It is easy to give up, it is easy to let go because it hurt too much to dream, sometimes dreams can be tough and to keep going, and sometimes all you have is yourself, to encourage yourself…to rely on it and remember… God has the answers, so let be” (From Media gets a Job). I hope one day I can see you in a live show, this is one of my dreams. This play really got me, it what exactly I needed to hear, you know my husband is just that man you described in your aunt's list, and I am thankful I watched you tonight because you help me realized how glad I am to have him in my life... He is the best man of my life. Love you Medea, Tyler Perry. Also, I am glad you said to put our faith on God not on men, for we are all humans and commit mistakes, some people just get it wrong and when they go into church, they are looking for a cure but instead of asking the Doctor for a prescription, they ask a nurse. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your work, is amazing.

why is this the LAST LIVE Madea tour then how are you going to make new madea movies based from the play. all you have left is a madea christmas and madea gets a job. you have already warned us about bootlegers the people who have been falling for that mess has thier own problem all you have to do is say the prices you say and if someone charge more then don't go for it you made me very upset because i got tickets for $65 on ticketmaster and did not get to see you in orlando even to this day im upset and hope you do more madea tours and just tell us to beaware of that. i also believe its kind of glad the show was cancelled because i had an headache that night but do another madea tour that really would put all of us a smile and i know it will right now im so mad im not in a mood to watch your new madea movie december.

Tyler, I have never gotten the chance to see you live. it is on my bucket list though i hope you change your mind about not doing any more live shows. Thanks

It was on my bucket list to be able to see you live and in person one day. When the tour was announced I was beyond excited. I've had my bouts with dishonest people who are too evil and/or too lazy to get a real job to support themselves, but I don't think I was as upset when my car was broken into than I am now at this moment. Material things can be replaced, so steal away if you must, but this is too much because now, they've stolen a dream from me.....from my heart.....and it deeply saddens me. I truly wish there was some way to get around these issues and let the honest people be the victors. God bless you Tyler and I will continue to watch you on the big screen because no matter what, your still inspirational and you still continue to touch mine, and the hearts of millions whether it be live or cinematic!!

Hi Tyler I am so grateful that God has placed you in a position to use the talents he blessed you with. I have enjoyed your plays, movies as well as your tv shows. I personally will miss House Of Payne. Although I continue to enjoy For Better or For Worse, I will wholeheartedly miss House Of Payne. I needed Curtis and company to bring that laughter in my life each week. I know you are very busy, and you continue to find ways to touch us in an uplifting and thoughtful way. But keep us in mind that love to enjoy a little if not more of you each week. In other words I wish we could have more of your productions weekly. Moreover, I wish you had your own network and put all your shows and many of the good African American shows back on with the new productions such as the Asian productions you are currently working on.
