Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

Tyler please do not do this. Your plays are the only pleasure I have in my life other than my immediate family. I cannot afford to go and see the plays live so I wait in anticipation everytime one comes out on DVD and run to the stores because I'm too impatient to wait and buy them from the website (sorry!) I' ve never been able to afford to go to a live play due to one reason or another. I was coming rain or shine this time because I felt this would be my last opportunity! Tyler please dont do this! You dont understand that a lot of us need these these plays you produce, It's the only time I can escape from reality into your world and forget about whatever problems I may be facing and I face a problem in my life on a regular. I live vicariously through these actors and actresses fantasizing that one day I may have the opportunity to be in a Tyler Perry play! I share you since of humor in the plays and the movies and I am just blown away with your talent. To me you are AMAZING! I know that there is probably nothing I say that will change your mind about doing the play. But this play is the best thing happening the the Augsta area this year ! I love you Tyler PLEASE reconsider!

Tyler, I was so sad to hear that this is the last live tour of Madea. I always look forward to whatever you have coming out and I've been a supporter of Tyler Perry and crew since the beginning, Even though I'm sad I can honestly say I respect your decision and I think you are a h*** of a man and I just love you. Sometimes in life we have to make decision that we dont want too, so just to let you know I'm still your # 1 fan. Tyler Perry you rock keep God first and everything shall work I know.

I am so sorry that we live me a world with evil people and people who would do something like that. I am with you Tyler why cant they just go out and find a job and stop trying to rip off people the world would be a better place. So sorry this is your last show so disappointed that I want get to see it do hope you plan on putting it out on DVD. You are wonderful man and hope to see you live again. Take care and good luck!

Hello Mr. Perry I wanted to start by thanking you for being such a wonderful and inspirational person to us all. You bring so much laughter and joy into our lives. I heard you on the Tom Joyner show yesterday and it's so unfortunate that you have to cancel your tour but you must protect your name and your hard work. I was planning on taking my family to see our first live show and celebrate my daughter Reshell's 6th birthday, who happens to be your biggest fan. She loves anything that has the Tyler Perry name on it. She has all your plays, and movies and has them on replay all day everyday and knows what time and channels to watch on T.V. I hope everthing works out and you are able to put the show back on the road. Much luck and love to you and continue the good work.

Dear Mr. Perry...I heard the announcement on yesterday. It's a shame that people would do things like this. I love your work, the visions that God gives you and how He works through you! Please know that you have our constant support...and that it WILL ALL WORK OUT FOR THE GOOD OF THEM THAT LOVE HIM!!! Blessings, Elder Brandi Rojas DYmondFYre Ministries

Good Morning Tyler: I have been a fan since the beginning and have always enjoyed your work. They have always inspired me personally, emotionally and mentally. I am truly disappointed that I will not be able to see Madea for the last time in Albany, GA. However, I do understand. When you came to Tallahassee, FL I was not able to attend the show because it was the week before I was having surgery (donating a kidney to a family member, my brother the following week) so I was a little heart broken then because I truly love your work and wasn't able to see the play. I pray that you don't completely retired Madea just give her some rest. I recalled in an email that you sent out that your mother asked you to continue to do Madea so I am asking you to please keep your promise to your mother and allow Madea to return after a vacation. Tyler, I want to tell you that God has given you talent like no other and you have blessed so many people over the years with that gift. Please continue to do what has God has allowed you to do, make people laugh. I love you and be bless!

Dear Tyler, I am so so sorry you had to cancel the balance of your tour. It's such a shame that a few always have to make it bad for the many. I was looking forward so eagerly to see you this Saturday in Greensboro. Since I am recovering from two hip replacements in less than five months, this was the perfect opportunity to go out and mingle with other folk. You just keep on doing what you do best, and do not worry yourself about these few who have spoiled something spectacular for the rest of us. May God continue to bless you. I look forward to more emails from you. Best wishes.

I was shocked to see that your show has been canceled. This would have been my mother an I very first Live show. I'm a bit disappointed how people are so evil to destroy thing. I hope in the future that I will have the opportunity to see you in person. Stay Blessed.

I was purchasing my tickets this morning and saw on ticketmaster all the cancelled shows. I immediately came to the website to see what's going on. So sorry!!! We were looking forward to the show, and were willing to pay the $65 for the best seats in the house!

Dear Mr. Tyler, I am so sorry that the Devil just can't stand the glory in your life. Yet, we all are aware that nothing happens in our lives, without a reason. Be patient. The Lord will reveal the meaning, soon, God Bless! Thank you for always sharing your heart with us. TC

the orlando show alabama and tampa shows are not cancelled so will they be cancelled or will they not?

    • William Orlando #1744323

Ticketmaster has the Orlando show still on sale- but i do see a lot of the other cities are cancelled. I have no idea why he would cancel, because everyone sales tickets online for a higher price, not just for his show. I think there's more to the story he's either tired or poor ticket sales.

Um I have to disagree with this the tIcket prIces have never been soooo hIgh even wIth added tIcket m***** fee, He Is tIred on the",man" trying to tax his people.

    • Chad #1744449

Orlando was just cancelled. I had 1st row center. I also agree there's something fishy about this. Every single artist has scalpers and fraud. I am going to assume low ticket sales or Tyler has something else coming up that would be hampered if he was touring. Really not cool.
