Due To Circumstances That I Can't Control...

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that I can't control, we've had to cancel this leg of the Madea Gets A Job tour.

Here's why. I set a ticket price for the show starting at $25. The reason I set the price so low is so that everyone could get a chance to come out and see the show. I know how tight things are right now. I GET IT! I do not tour to make a living, I tour because I love staying connected to all of you. I love seeing your faces, hearing you laugh and seeing you enjoy yourselves. It gives me great joy. Even though it's a lot of work, I really don't mind doing it. Because of that, what I do is make sure that the promoter sets a reasonable ticket price and the prices are $25, $45 and $65. Even though I set these prices so that they are affordable, fees are added that are out of my control and the price of the tickets can almost double. Add to that, when you go online looking for tickets, IN LOTS OF CASES, you are being led to a bootlegger and you don't even know it. There are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad.

Also, there are some horrible people who are pretending to be me or representing me on Facebook and charging people money to do a meet and greet on the tour. They are telling people that they are me or working for me and charging them $150 for a meet and greet after the play.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS!! That's not me.

This is so frustrating! Why are people so evil? Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time? If they put the same amount of energy into doing the right thing as they do in doing the wrong thing they could make it. It's so sad.

To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied.

This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live. All refunds should be given back to you.

I am so sad that the devil is trying to steal our joy! We love you in Washington! I had planned on seeing you live for the first time and bringing my entire family. Hopefully this will not become a stumbling block for you to share your gift with your fans and do what you love. We will be patiently waiting for you to stop by and pay us a visit. God bless!

I am so sad that you will not be coming to Seattle. I appreciate everything you do and the joy you bring to families who sit together just to watch one of your movies or plays.....and just crack up together! Thank you!!! The commitment and love you have towards your craft is the same commitment we (at least our family) has towards supporting you by buying and watching your movies and plays!

Mr. Perry, I was just thrilled and excited when I found out your newest play was coming to town. I have always wanted to see you and your cast live for years, but you did not come to the West coast often. The one time you did I was on the East coast (just my luck). I have followed your work since about 2002 when I first saw Madea's Family Reunion. Since then I have seen all your plays that have been released on DVD, sitcoms, and movies. Despite my disappointment, I will continue to support you and see your upcoming film Alex Cross and can't wait for The Marriage Counselor (One of my favs) to be released in theaters next year. Your work has blessed me and showed me that despite what I saw every Sunday morning growing up, Christians are not perfect and we do not have it all together. I appreciate your honesty and pray that God continues to lead and guide you on your journey and continue to provide provision. God Bless

Good morning Mr. Perry: First, I wanted to let you know how proud our Father in heaven must be of U! As your sis in Christ, I can surely feel his smile & approval, when I look at your face or any of HIS productions that HE has so skillfully created through your obedience & pure vessel! I am proud of you big bro, con't to allow our DAD,Abba Father, to use U, as you have been such a joy to all of us that view your work! I see you have a Pastor/Christ-like heart, and is down right real...which is awesome in this time we live in... Am a bit disappointed that this play is cancelled...I actually wanted to give your tickets as a gift tomorrow to my Pastor for his Birthday... To be perfectly honest, this would have completed my family's Birthday gift basket called ''5 senses=Life's Euphoric Essentials''.... he is a fan, as I am of yours, he has spoken to you before. Well thank you for being the man that HE has called you to be from the foundations of the earth...I tell you, obedience is a powerful thing, peace, love + much joy, love u'r sis in Christ! PS: If u have any other suggestions, am open to it, LOL, thanks ;-)

My friend told me of the cancellation so sad that we didn't get the chance to enjoy the last live stage play, I truly understand that this is completely out of your hands. At least I know we are connected to a truly God fearing individual for someone to take the time out of what I know could be an extremely busy schedule and speak to your fans is really touching. Thank you for being honest and letting us know what was going on. I hate that we live in a society where people are so evil but hey that's life we have to take the good with the bad. May God continue to bless you and all your future endeavors I am truly a fan and will continue to follow, can't wait to see the new movie.....

ALEX CROSS (Tyler Perry) will be in theaters on Oct.19th which is only days away! Go & enjoy a action thriller, heart pounding excitement on Oct. 19th. Watch as he (Tyler Perry) show you another side of himself. James Patterson(author of Cross) says, he's very compassionate, smart, etc & like to hunt down serial killers. I think its going to be outstanding! I can't wait to see TP in ACTION! :-) Lots of time in this life people hate to endure change but change is growth. Even kids stop crawling so they can run, jump & walk. I say, keep up the good work Tyler Perry, you are loved & appreciated in whatever you decide to do. Do you thang!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this upcoming movie you are starring in. I can't stop thinking about seeing you in action. And if I do like it as much as I believe I will, I will be going to see & enjoy it more than once or twice, for that much. Lol... I got Good Deeds playing right now. My favorite part is the 2PAC part! Lol... Then the song right after is is LOVELY! :-) Don't worry about us we're gonna be alright believe that. Oh & Madea's WitnessProtection comes out just days after Alex Cross hits the big screen, that following Tuesday Oct.23rd?!?! Now u know I gotta sit & get my laugh on with that one all over again. This time in the presence of my home. Lol... Smh.. too funny! Have a good night & we love you T! Thanks for all you do, even the parts we are so unaware of. You are a true blessing. And we love & adore you. Forever means forever; no ending. Lol... :-)

Mr. Perry, My wife and I have always enjoyed your Madea live shows. We always made sure we were early, didn't want to suffer the wrath of Madea for being late. Hate to see the show end, hopefully circumstances will change and some way this problem can be controlled. It's a shame that the few spoil such a great inspiration from you to laugh and enjoy ourselves at your plays. Thanks for the great shows and again hopefully this is not the end.
