Encouraged by a cell phone

OK,

To all of you that use the cell phone light like I do, I just want to say this.  For me, as I was walking through my dark house trying to get to my bedroom, it was truly an exercise in faith. I could only see the light at my feet. I had to trust that even though I could only see three feet in front of me, if I kept following this light, I would get there.

It reminded me of a scripture in the bible, Psalm 119:105 "The word is a lamp unto my feet and a light into my pathway." Back in those days when people would travel through the night, they would use little lamps that were attached to their feet. The lamp only gave them enough light to see just a few steps in front of them.  As long as they kept moving, they could find their way. If they stopped moving, so did the light.

This moved me because this is how I have lived my entire life. I have always walked by faith. Sometimes there was only a little light, a little hope that kept me moving.  There were so many times that I didn’t know how I was going to make it. So many times I didn’t know where my next meal was coming from, if my hope would be realized or if my dreams would come true. But no matter how dark it got, I kept moving.  That is one of the keys to making your dreams come true. JUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

If you’d allow me to, I’d like to challenge you to do more of that this year. Live by faith! No matter what you see happening around you, no matter how dark it may be, follow the lamp at your feet that God provides to us all, no matter who we are.  A small step is still a step forward.

At the top of every year, I stop and go away to reflect. I will usually take out my journal and read over some of the past years and look at all the things God brought me through, no matter how dark the times. What rereading my journal taught me is that there was always a lamp at my feet. I think if you look at your life, you’ll see a lamp too. :-)  If you don’t, look closer. I promise you it's there!

If you’re struggling in any way, financially, school, business, relationships, children, sickness, heartache, I so believe that God will be a light unto your pathway. IF YOU LET HIM!!  Stop looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and look at the light at your feet and you’ll get there.

I hope you remember this every time you use your cell to light a path.  God Bless you in 2012! You can make this your best year yet, through faith.

The revelation is inspiration to the soul, and food for thought. A man works a job for 20 years, unknowing g0es in to work and is told there is no longer a job for him. He wants to give up. But the next day the man receves a phone call, it is a job offer better than the job the door closed on. What if the man gave up? He never would have experianced the new job. Mr. Perry so0metimes the darts come so fast, and circumstances for many & are not easily mended. But like your words of inspiration, "IF YOU LET HIM," would penertrate the soul & mind & if o0ne woul[d only, "surrender all", we would be in better shape. I believe 2012 has the best yet to come for all of us: personal relationships with Christ, wisdom, debt free, health, wealth, frienships, jobs, education, & relationships.

Man of God! You have no idea how RIGHT ON TIME these words of encouragement blessed me on TODAY!!! I am strengthened to know as never before that our God truly has His BEST plans for me. I shall NOT give up or give in to the devices that want to stop me from fulfilling my destiny, dreams, desires of my heart for mankind as a whole. THANK YOU does not adequately express my sincerest gratitude for you to STOP and make the time to encourage us ALL. God is no respecter of persons, if He has done it for ONE - He shall do it for us ALL. For He knows the plans He has for me, a BRIGHT future and HOPE! I have to thank you for this. It took everything I had not start crying. Your post especially hit close to my heart because my mother just passed away 3 days after Christmas and it has been the hardest thing I have ever went through. She was only 55 and was so sick she didn't even get a chance to enjoy the holiday. As I sat here reading this it helped me in so many ways. Although just writing this comment causes me to cry your post has helped to remind me that instead of losing my faith I need to rely on it even more. When I was given the news that my mother was not expected to make it through the night I was devastated but prayed to get the chance to see her one more time just to tell her I loved her. When my brother called me on the 26th and told me that she had made it through I was thankful. I threw clothes is a bag and made the 10 hour drive with my husband and children all the time praying to God to please let me get that chance. He answered my prayers and I was able to tell her before she passed. It is so easy to lose faith especially through times like these. I thank you so much.

Tyler, you are such a great writer and testifier of the Word! Your message was a blessing and I really see the ability God has given you to be a leader in the gospel. PLEASE PLEASE live the Word just as you speak it, I know you are a great man of God, I just want to encourage you to continue in that. In the secret places of your life please allow God to guide your steps, every decision you make, and everything you do. Please live for ALL of the Word. Of course noone is perfect but strive to please God in every are, be it pride, fear, lust, purity, condemantion, whatever the things are you deal with, allow God to guide those secret places with that lamp. Dont allow life to get you so caught up in being busy teaching the TRUTH of God's Word that you slack in the doing of it. I love you man of God.

Tyler...In tears. Your words ring true. I have had life experiences that have demonstrated God's faithfulness. Yet, STILL uncertain and restless. The weight is heavy.

Hi Mr.Perry , Your message really hit home for me ...I have been looking only at the light at the end of the tunnel for the last 5 months ...just trying to hurry up and get to that point where I know I will be ok. But now I think about ...'what do I do until then...?' It's been a struggle these past few months since I lost my job ...but now I realize why. I've been lookingat the light at the end of the tunnel and not the light that lights my path.Starting today its only going to be one step at a time. Thank you for those inspiring and encouraging words. God Bless.

Hi Tyler, first you have to know that you are a great inspiration! I don't often respond or post comments b/c I'm just a small voice in a crowd, but this message of encouragement has given me hope to move forward! I feel like the blind man on the side of the road, and when Jesus passed by he called out to Him, but the crowd tried to keep him quiet... but he just kept calling louder and louder until he got Jesus' attention... well, I hope this gets your attention. Even though I'm just a small voice, I'm still a voice, and I just want to say thank you. You have encouraged me! I feel like I know you (even though we've never met), and I'm so proud! Keep on keeping on! God bless!!
