I Need Your Help

This message is to all my folks, especially my die-hard folks, the ones I call the “Board Members” - you know who you are :).  By now I’m sure you all know that I have moved my TV shows to OWN and on May 28th and 29th I have a two night premiere. On Tuesday night, my new hot drama THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS starts. I’m telling you, I put it all in this show. I not only want you to watch it but we need you to watch it for several reasons. The biggest reason is this is a fresh group of faces and I am beyond excited to see them get their shot. I make you these promises, this SHOW WILL HOOK YOU!!!  I KNOW IT! Then on Wednesday night, which used to be my original night of TV, I’m going back to it with a brand new show called LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. It stars a bunch of new faces including the two folks I said I would give a sitcom to, Mamma Hattie (Patrice Lovely) and Floyd (Palmer Williams, Jr). They are so excited and this show is so funny. So Tuesday get your drama on and Wednesday get your funny on OWN, OK?

I remember when HOUSE OF PAYNE started how people tried to kill it before it started, but because you watched it and were there, that show went on into the history books with 254 episodes. Thank you for that. You did that through the grace of God. So in less than ten days THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR will start on OWN.  I hope you are planning to watch them. Thank you for helping me help someone else. I wish you could see how excited these cast members are. They have been waiting to see their dreams come true and you know how much I love to be used by God to make that happen.  You’ll see, you’ll see.

And FYI, all of you FOR BETTER OR WORSE fans, it’s coming back with a new season to OWN as well. And all you HOUSE OF PAYNE fans, hold on, I’m trying to work on something..LOL, but we’ve got to launch these new shows first, OK?

Let me know your thoughts.

Many blessings and love to you.

Mr. Perry I have written before but dont get to often as i would like. I also dont get to watch tv at all but the other day circumstances caused me to slow down so i watched The Haves and Have Nots. lol I have been on both sides of that coin from the hood to the million dollar home, to starting over again and having it stolen again. i know these people up close, ive lived it, the writing is excellent. i love the characters and how they gel, bravo on the casting. That day was a day i was ready to just call it in. Lord should I just be average and settle, smh i dont even know how to be average. Then i saw your interview with Oprah it was a delightful evening of restoration(and the Lord shall renew my strength daily!) Not only am i going to keep pressing but im going to cut out time to watch my new favorite show. Thank you for being a living testimony to the masses and thank you and Praise God for you being so humble.

I absolutely loved "The Haves and The Have Nots". I had no idea how the different characters would play out, but boy was I excited, and was left wanting more at the end. That Candace is a force to be reckoned with, and I can't wait for next week's episode. This is my new night time soap, and it has all the makings of becoming every bit as delicious as the day time soaps that I have been watching for years. Tyler, once again you are the man. I don't know how your mind keeps coming up with all of these shows, movies plays, etc., but I thank God that they do. You were already a powerhouse before you got to O.W.N., but the hand of God is on you and Oprah big time, now, and I am just in awe every time I see you and she together. Some of God's best work is being done through you two, and I shutter to even think what you will come up with next. Please keep doing what you two do, cause I'll be with you every step of the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Mr. Tyler I enjoyed your show last night (The Haves and Have Not) Drama. Coming from New Orleans (The Garden District Area) we lived it , especially when you have a grandmother that's creole (that's a story within it's self) . I was wondering will you ever create a movie about the Creole's of New Orleans such a hidden secret among the families. The Big Easy have a lot of hidden secrets in dark places from the east to the west of Louisiana Bayou.. Well ok I pray that God's favor continue to rest upon you.. Take Care Big Brother

Tyler, I love your new show. But I mostly love your message, what you have brought to the table regarding overcoming, faith, intention, good works, and utilizing a life/God force that is there to lift every one of us out of the muck. I don't have the cultural background to really "get" Madea or "the inside joke" as it were, but I moved from California to the deep South when I was 5 years old, and I KNEW what was going on there regarding racism was just plain WRONG. I have lived through all the changes over the years, the assassinations of great leaders, the hero moments of people taking a non-violent stand for what is right. I agree with Oprah that every step today is in honor of those who could not move forward in the past, but who had a dream. Funny how we get very emotional about things as we age. I am so proud of our society, for a God that produces a Tyler Perry against so many odds, for the pendulum that can settle to calm/self-assured from angry protests and the clamor for immediate change. Years ago I sent my children across town to an integrated elementary school and my 7-year-old kept talking about his best friend. When the classroom picture came out, I was so happy and somewhat surprised to see that this best friend was black. My son did not have the consciousness to describe his friend in racial terms. I hope all of society continues to move in that direction. Meanwhile, I can't wait till next Tuesday's episode of The Have's and Have Not's.

I loved the show. I thought it would be too many sex scenes. That Candace is a heffa. The first Candance that started the show looks really different than the Candace that showed up at the birthday party. I know these are two different women. The first is lighter skinned than the other. I watched over and over and know these are two different women. The second has a part in the middle while the first has a part on the side. I'm lovin this show with all the skeletons. I had no intentions of watchin this one.

Hello Mr.Perry, I will like only the opportunity to spend Fifteen minutes with you and share this wonderful story, that is not just revolutionary, but will wake the world up. It is the beautiful story of a people, the kind of story that made Eddy Murphy's Coming to America and Tyler Perry's Madea Classics today. I assure you that I will not be wasting your time. very Respectfully, Henry Durugbor
