I'm Still In The Fight!

One day I’m going to write a book and tell you about all the crap that goes on behind the scenes in my life. Good God almighty, you won't believe some of the things I have to deal with. You would think that by now I wouldn’t have to fight to release a movie... but I do. Everything is a fight. I mean everything. By the time the movie comes out I’m so exhausted from the fight that it’s hard to unwind and take it all in.

Hear me good when I say this to you, I never take for granted that you are going to come out and see my films. Never. I know that you have a lot of choices and a lot of other things you can do with your time and money, so all I can tell you is that I’m so glad that you do and that you have been with me from the beginning. This means the world to me. It really does. That is where I get my rewards, knowing that you are with me. I want you to know that I, and everybody that works at TPS and their families, appreciate it so much.

With that said, MADEA’S WITNESS PROTECTION opens Friday, June 29th. That’s tomorrow. Just to let you know where this idea came from... I was sitting at dinner with a friend and I said to them, “the punishment for Bernie Madoff should have been that he had to move in with Madea." Isn’t the thought of that funny? Light bulbs went off in my head, so I wrote THE FUNNIEST Madea movie I’ve ever written. You’ll see! This movie is hilarious. It’s nonstop laughter. I sure hope you have plans to go out and take your family, friends, social and church groups to see MADEA’S WITNESS PROTECTION this weekend. The first weekend is so important. That’s how you’re judged in Hollywood. And that is how you can help me fight, by showing up at the movie theater this weekend.

I sure hope you still have my back… I need your help to win this fight.

I’ll be on Facebook, Twitter and tylerperry.com’s message board reading your comments.

Tyler, Tyler, Tyler, thank you! I just got out of the service in 2011. My family is far away from me and I live here in Athens alone; but watching your movies and plays makes me feel closer to them. So, keep doing what you do Tyler, because I could really use the entertainment.

I love reading your messages because they are so inspiring to me. I know that you are busy but please don't stop writing them. Also, I can't wait to read your book, and I really hope you can devote some time to write it. It seems that House of Payne show is getting funnier every time I watch it. Curtis is really funny. I also like that you try to send a message within each episode that relates to problems people are facing such as suicide, addiction, homosexuality on the House of Payne show. I am happy that you are still standing strong after the fire to your studio and that the damage was not severe. I really amire the fact that you are so humble and grateful.

Tyler! My boys and I couldn't wait until Madea Witness Protection came to the theaters. We love your work and were so excited that Madea had a new movie. However, the Helena theater is not playing it. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed we were that it was not playing in our town. It is playing in a couple of towns around us that are only a couple of hours away so I think next weekend we are going to take a road trip. I don't understand why there are only a few theaters in the whole state of Montana playing this movie. I know it is not your fault. I wish I knew what we could do to prevent this in the future. Thanks for all the laughs and tears and inspiring messages. Take Care!

Hi Tyler, My mom, sister and I saw your new movie today, along with a theater full of adults, children and babies....yes, babies. People of all races, colors, genders and ages love you Tyler and so do we! You are such a gifted writer, director, producer and human being. Your movie touched on so many aspects of everyday life and the many challenges we have to face. And of course, you make us laugh along the way. I love being able to scream out with laughter without feeling as if someone is looking at me enjoying myself. What a joy!!! I like the fact that you explored your character's father in this "Madea's Witness Protection." I saw a different side of him, which made him more than a crazy, creepy and "icky" old man. His humanity openened a door, I believe, to future possibilities with his character......along with the "highly probable" mother of his child. It would be great to see you explore this new family integration. You are quite brilliant! I also like the way you incorporated Whoppi Goldberg's character in "Ghost," which was ingenious, to solve a very difficult situation. I could go on and on, exploring your characters, chosen lines, scenes,etc..but overall, Tyler, you did a great job. Congratulations! We also saw the promo for your Alex Cross movie. I was on the edge of my seat just watching these scenes, and can't wait to see it. I'm sure that your dramatic side, as you have shown in many of your previous movies, will be just as powerful as your comedy. Please continue bringing us more stories to love and share. May God continue to bless you. Love and Hugs

Tyler,Tyler,Tyler, you have done it again. I just saw MADEA'S WITNESS PROTECTION and as I sit here I am Still laughing. Please don't ever think that your family doesn't have your back. There were so many people in the theater that I wondered if I was ever going to get in less than a hours time. Believe me there are plenty of people out here that have your back, so just relax, keep giving us your wonderful work, and believe me when I say this. You just tell us what you need from us, and you got it!!!!!!
