It May Take A While

It's funny how a song, a taste, a scent, or something as simple as a change in weather can trigger a memory. Certain times of year make me think about when I was homeless. Especially the winter. I started thinking about this one lady in particular who helped me out during that time. She was a good soul who saw me in need and gave me money and food. She didn't have much but what she had she shared out of the kindness of her heart. I told her that when I got successful I would pay her back. She smiled and said, "You don't have to pay me anything. I just felt led to help you."

I couldn't stop thinking about her the other day so I did some research and found her. Imagine her shock when I called her. She didn't even think that I remembered her. It's funny how something that was a small gesture to her was a huge blessing to me. As we went on talking, she reluctantly told me that she had just lost her job and was facing foreclosure. Of course, I did some things to help her out.

Why am I telling you this? I'm glad you asked. She gave to me out of the kindness of her heart. She gave to me from a pure place and expected nothing in return. The thing that brought tears to my eyes and blessed me so about this situation was this: this woman planted a seed in my life almost twenty years ago. But what she didn't know at the time was that the seed she planted would one day come back and bless her life just when she needed it most.

So what am I saying? I'm saying that if you are a giver of whatever you have... time, money, love, help, whatever it is... if you plant it in pureness it has got to come back to you. It may take a while but you will reap a harvest from that seed. Don't be weary in well-doing. It will come back to you. I know sometimes it may seem that all the good you do goes unnoticed by people, but if they don't notice, it doesn't matter. If they don't acknowledge your kindness, it does not matter. You know why? Because I promise you God sees it all and He is the only one that matters. And He is bound by His word, and that word says you will reap what you sow. So sow on, sow good seeds. They will grow and come back to you when you least expect it.

God bless you today.

Good morning Mr. Perry, You know this letter is so AWESOME!!! This is the way I live my Life, I try to be the best person I can possibly be. By bestowing whatever kindness I can, help, knowledge, or bit of wisdom to others on their journey in Life. Then maybe we can change the world, one person at a time. I pray every night that the Lord will continue to guide my path in the direction that I am destined, so that I may help others during my time on this earth. If this world had more people like you, "What a Beautiful World this would be." Have a Blessed Day!!! Peace and Love.

Hi Mr.Perry, What wonderful store .I'm glad you found her and gave back to her.You know some people forget who helped them along the way. It's good to give you never know when you will need that help. This past weekend me and my granddaughters was on our way to the store to get food with what I had. This man was standing on a walk way in the middle of the road with a sign saying; I just got out the hospital hit by a car need help.I see these people everyday with signs .Some of them I think just do it for a living. Some of them are homeless and need help. But anyway as I got closer to him his face was messed up arm black and blue. The light was still red so I dugged around in my purse to find what I could .I gave him 2.00 from my food money.I also notice that he had tattoos on him.One was that he was a military Vet.And he didn't use that to get help.I thank him for serving our country and wished it was more I could do.My husband is retired military .So I know what they do to keep us safe.Give to those who need the help. You will never know when you need the help. Love you so much Mr. perry

OMG Tyler I am in tears and shouting at my desk. I normally don't read all of your emails. There have been times that I would just delete them without even opening the email. I am soooooo glad I read this one. I KNOW GOD IS A GOOD GOD!!!!!! I have always been a giver. I have taken in individuals and families into my home off the streets. And let them stay with me at no charge. This email/letter you wrote about "It may take a While" is just a confirmation to NOT stop giving. Thank you Tyler for allowing and surrendering to the Holy Spirit and sharing this experience. Enjoy your day. From one Giver to Another.

Good Morning .... Your message was so uplifting, especially with all the kaos going on in the world right now. I was at the grocery store once, a elderly women was in front of me in line checking out, when the cashier told her what her grocery total came to, she didn't have enough money, she started taking stuff out of her grocery bag to put back and bring her bill down, I stopped her and gave the cashier the rest of the balance....the women thanked me so much, and I felt good that whole day, I mean, I don't have alot of money by no means, but I did have extra that day, maybe God saw fit for me to have that little extra cash, I don't know, but your right, you reap what you sow, and I was glad I could help her....I have to say Mr. Perry I wish I could talk to you about some other things, things you would understand, things that haunt me, things I can't post, but things that you are all to familiar with.....Thank you for just being you ! God Bless You !

" Wisdom and Understanding" The two most important things to Get! You give Wisdom and knowledge with the things you say and do in todays world where a teaching is needed, but most of all you brought back the awareness and importants of God in the family's today. Hi Tyler, I got chillls just reading your passage. I can remember a time that I gave to a mother and her daughter. I work in TJMAXX and I was putting out the new christmas shipment. I over heard them privately discussing how they were going to be able to get a gift for the younger girl's classmate (because they had pulled names at school), also the mother was talking about buying her husband something (he was at home with a injured back and he was out of work). This lady walked over to my co-worker to ask if we could hold a $5.00 mens shirt for her until she got paid at the end of the week and my co-worker told her "NO". It appeared that they only had a limited amount of money that they were working with. Well, I have been in both of those situations. I have been a little girl that was unable to give a gift when my class pulled names and I also have been a statistic of a closed down job. I don't have alot but I felt drawn to do something. I stop what I was doing and quietly walked over and gave from my heart. Needless to say, she thanked me over and over again. A coworker witness me doing this and said although it was a nice gesture, we don't make enough to help everyone that comes in with a sob story. I told her that I didn't want anyone to witness me doing that because I was just glad that I was able to do something that I nightly pray for and that is to be on the giving end and not always the recieving end. Keep up the good work and I'm proud of you!
