It May Take A While

It's funny how a song, a taste, a scent, or something as simple as a change in weather can trigger a memory. Certain times of year make me think about when I was homeless. Especially the winter. I started thinking about this one lady in particular who helped me out during that time. She was a good soul who saw me in need and gave me money and food. She didn't have much but what she had she shared out of the kindness of her heart. I told her that when I got successful I would pay her back. She smiled and said, "You don't have to pay me anything. I just felt led to help you."

I couldn't stop thinking about her the other day so I did some research and found her. Imagine her shock when I called her. She didn't even think that I remembered her. It's funny how something that was a small gesture to her was a huge blessing to me. As we went on talking, she reluctantly told me that she had just lost her job and was facing foreclosure. Of course, I did some things to help her out.

Why am I telling you this? I'm glad you asked. She gave to me out of the kindness of her heart. She gave to me from a pure place and expected nothing in return. The thing that brought tears to my eyes and blessed me so about this situation was this: this woman planted a seed in my life almost twenty years ago. But what she didn't know at the time was that the seed she planted would one day come back and bless her life just when she needed it most.

So what am I saying? I'm saying that if you are a giver of whatever you have... time, money, love, help, whatever it is... if you plant it in pureness it has got to come back to you. It may take a while but you will reap a harvest from that seed. Don't be weary in well-doing. It will come back to you. I know sometimes it may seem that all the good you do goes unnoticed by people, but if they don't notice, it doesn't matter. If they don't acknowledge your kindness, it does not matter. You know why? Because I promise you God sees it all and He is the only one that matters. And He is bound by His word, and that word says you will reap what you sow. So sow on, sow good seeds. They will grow and come back to you when you least expect it.

God bless you today.

Mr. Perry. Thank you. I was raised by a single mother. I often have wondered how my life would have been different had my father been in my life. Then I watched Madea Gets A Job. And something she said to me hit me and made me have an ah ha moment. She told Sam that his father taught him just as much by his absence as he would have by being there. WOW!!!!! I am an educated woman, single with a good job. I have no reason to be upset. God had me covered. He was an alcoholic and only God knows how my life would have been had he been around. Thank you for allowing God to speak through you. I have such an inner peace now about the situation.

Hello Tyler, What a beautiful story of giving without asking for anything in return. And for you to keep your promise makes the story more touching. I do believe that God blessed you years ago by "sending" someone to help you......keeping you afloat....at a time when you desperately needed to survive. I believe that God knew you would help so many others once you "arrived" at your final destination, which is who you are today. You are a gift to so many Tyler, and not because you give so much, but because you have such as loving heart. This, I believe is what God sees in us. You are right! He sees all of our "good deeds" and blesses us.....but in his own time. This, at times can be difficult when we not only want, but need to be acknowledged and hence, told that we are doing or have done a wonderful job. We are, only human. And the child in us is always seeking a pat on the back, a hug, or someone to say, "good job!" We must always remember that God is the one "truly" in charge of our lives and will always see the good that we do. And because of his love, we won't look for anyone else to notice our kind acts. At least not all of the time. Take Care. Love and Hugs.

Mr. Perry, the calling you have on your life is so great that you may as well put the prefix of "Rev" or "Pastor" in font of your name. You remind a lot of us that we are all called to lead people to Christ, and that the lives we lead are viewed by others as a lamp post. When someone is on the outside looking in, they don't see the cracks in the corners or the bills on the counter, but when they make it inside they see more than what they knew. You've opened the door so many time for others, and have been the example so many times, that no one can doubt that there is a God who can make mountains move and rain to fall when it is needed most. Such seeds are precious, and the ones you have planted come from the seeds planted in you. Nothing can be more beautiful than sharing the fruit of the Spirit as you have, and for that, I thank you so much. Even us preachers and pastors need to be reminded sometimes. Thank you, Mr. Perry.

Tyler, thanks for the reminder. Its good to be reminded why we are here: To be a blessing to some one else. Its funny that I was just asked a question a few hours ago. The person as me: "when my blessing come what are you going to do with it?" I told them help people in need. Another person made a statement like: "you are not going to buy a plane and go to the Bahamas?" My answer was No. God is really showing himself strong in my life right now. Tyler, if you and I was sitting in a room together I will tell you but since millions are watching I have to do my praise break in my house right now. Have a bless night and know I am praying for you and you are a blessing to me more then words can express. Take Care!!

God is so amazing in that He allowed that lady to be a blessing to you. It was not by chance that you thought about her, it was God's timing for Him to use you to bless her in her time of need. Continue to be the vessel God uses because He gets the glory. God Bless.

Thanks for the post! I find that you rarely get to see the full circle as you did but oh how sweet it is either way! I'm sure the lady who helped you never did it with any intention of being repayed for her kindness. I wonder if she felt happy just to have had what you needed when you needed it. It's amazing how God does that...gives us just what the person needs when they ask. Anyway, thanks for sharing yourself. I find myself checking your site entirely too much just to hear a sweet positive word like that. Be Blessed!

Tyler, So good to hear from you. I understand what you are saying. It is so good that we have the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truths. We have to learn to be sensitive to his voice, though. I'm getting better at this. I just wonder how much better my life would have been if I had known this earlier in my life. Charlene
