It's Been a Rough 12 Days...

I’ll keep this short and sweet because it's been a rough 12 days for me, with what would have been my mother’s 67th birthday one day and the awful news about Whitney the next. I can’t even think about it... we’ll talk about that some other time, but for now I just want to be sure you’re planning on going to the movie theaters to see GOOD DEEDS this weekend.

GOOD DEEDS opens tomorrow, Friday February 24th, everywhere. It’s the opening weekend box office numbers that count in Hollywood. That is how they judge you, so if you can make it to the theaters this weekend, please do so. I never ever take for granted that you are automatically going to show up, but I tell you, I thank God that you do. I’m hoping that this time is no different.

I gotta say, this is a different kind of role for me, but it felt good to try something different. You know that there are many people who think I can only do Madea. As much as we love her you and I both know better than that. This is the first time I have ever played a character that is this close to who I am as a man and as a person.

I think you’re going to love it. GOOD DEEDS is going to make you smile, laugh and think, and at the end you’re going to leave lifted and feeling good.

A friend of mine, who has always been honest with me, told me that this is my best movie yet. Tell me what you think. I’ll be on Facebook and my message board all weekend long waiting for the true critics to speak, and that’s you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Love you and know that I appreciate you so much,

Tyler

Mr. Perry, My girlfriends and I went to see your movie, Good Deeds, on last night at Cumberland AMC. I am happy that you cast yourself in this role to show your versatility. The cast was great, especially Thandie Newton and Phylicia Rashad. I respect their craft in performing ultimately. In my honest opinion, I loved the story line but the plot was predictable. Predictable but still inviting to the passionate sensory to know that Wesley Deeds was a man with a real big heart. I thought other characters were good as well but you left so much room for growth in them. Don't get me wrong, I really and truly enjoyed the movie but I also believe that you're just beginning to "tap" into what GOD has put into you. The other movies you've done were just pre-requisite to the awesomeness for what you will do in the future. I respect your talent, your love for people and your generosity. I believe that you will see just how far will take you in your endeavors if you only just allow HIS Presence to continue to lead and guide you with the compassion for what you do. GOD Bless You Mr. Perry.

Saw Good Deeds last night and I loved it. The ending kind of left you wanting more, but I guess that could be a lead-in to a follow up of how Wesley, Lindsay and Ariel are doing. After the movie was over and the credits started rolling the theater erupted in a tremendous round of applause. I can't wait to see I Alex Cross now. Great job Tyler.

I just saw #gooddeeds! I loved it! I laughed and cried...and definitely can relate to Wesley's emotions and actions in the film. Happiness is in all of us, but some of us need permission to let it out...and too often we get in our own way. Thank u for reminding me of that. I love the "real" you! I feel inspired by you. Thank you for making great movies. LOVE YOU!!!

I'll let you know what I think of your movie in great detail. I'm bringing a pad and taking notes. I'll have my little flashlight. LOL!
