It's Been a Rough 12 Days...

I’ll keep this short and sweet because it's been a rough 12 days for me, with what would have been my mother’s 67th birthday one day and the awful news about Whitney the next. I can’t even think about it... we’ll talk about that some other time, but for now I just want to be sure you’re planning on going to the movie theaters to see GOOD DEEDS this weekend.

GOOD DEEDS opens tomorrow, Friday February 24th, everywhere. It’s the opening weekend box office numbers that count in Hollywood. That is how they judge you, so if you can make it to the theaters this weekend, please do so. I never ever take for granted that you are automatically going to show up, but I tell you, I thank God that you do. I’m hoping that this time is no different.

I gotta say, this is a different kind of role for me, but it felt good to try something different. You know that there are many people who think I can only do Madea. As much as we love her you and I both know better than that. This is the first time I have ever played a character that is this close to who I am as a man and as a person.

I think you’re going to love it. GOOD DEEDS is going to make you smile, laugh and think, and at the end you’re going to leave lifted and feeling good.

A friend of mine, who has always been honest with me, told me that this is my best movie yet. Tell me what you think. I’ll be on Facebook and my message board all weekend long waiting for the true critics to speak, and that’s you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Love you and know that I appreciate you so much,

Tyler

The movie Good Deeds is soooo refreshing. Loved the soundtrack. It's been a long time since I've heard Tuck & Patti's 'Time After Time'. Very nice.... Would like to see more movies like this one.

Once again hats off to Mr. Tyler Perry! (I have never missed a TP movie the 1st weekend it comes out or a Play [when it comes close to me]) I think Good Deeds was a great movie, it really made me appreciate the good and the bad things more in life! Everyone played their role very well... This movie was different in so many ways it had a different vibe than most of you movies (which I LOVED that).. Tyler keep up the good work, as long as your making movies and plays I will always go and support you! (a young African American man doing wonderful for himself, you are a great role model for all African American males)

Dear Tyler Just finish seeing Good Deeds, and I love it even though I have seen you in other movies that you produced this movie was diffeent, your charcter hit on to something that I never seen before in your other movies, maybe it because you had more interaction with the character then the other Im not sure. But I just wanted to tell you great job, I felt every emotion and every feeling. I work with children so I no how it feels to have CPS come and take your child I felt for the character it dont always work out for the better, But the job you done on this move was fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely the best, you certainly did it. I took my family and thought we would miss a crowd but the theater was completely full at 1:00 in the afternoon. You are so loved by the people her in Ohio. I cried 3 separate times and my 15 year old who acts like she has no emotions kept turning her head so that she wouldn't "feel it" but she absolutely did. I think the funniest part for me was "the old white man" line. Everything else just kept pulling on my heart strings. Whatever comes next, this family will be there to support you. P.S. I watched the entire funeral of our dear sister Whitney and I must say, you were my absolute favorite speaker. I felt like I had just went to church but never left my living room. You are so blessed. Please keep doing what your doing, you keep on blessing me!!!

Loooooved your movie, Good Deeds! My whole family went to see it today: my husband, 4 year old ( she loved it too...both of them did). My husband just lost his job and I have thought about the idea of being in the same situation as Tandy's character...But God!!! The most impotant messsge the movie left with me is that sometimes you have to get out of your own way in order for someone eles to find their's. I love your heart, Tyler. Keep pressing towards the mark! Ps...love the work u r doing here in Chicago! Bless you!!!!!

My dear brother, My wife and I went on our date night to see the movie, and were absolutely blessed by it. It is awesome to see your evolvement as an artist, and we have the upmost respect for you. You successfully portray Black Love on the screen in a positive way which is a rarity. All the actors were superb, and I appreciate the attention to detail displayed---and the cameo by the former MISS USA was a nice touch! If the Wesley character is close to who you are, man, bravo for you--successful, yet down to earth. Someone to look up to and someone who could also be comfortable at our kitchen table. Plaudits to you! Keep on Soaring, CAM

Mr. Perry, I am one of your biggest fans and I always look forward to your movies. I did watch Good Deeds today and LOVED it. I really enjoyed watching you in a different role which you nailed. The movie was emotional, funny, and inspirational. It’s a great reminder that there are people struggling in this world and you should never take anything for granted. By the way your words at Whitney Houston funeral were amazing. I can’t wait for your next movie, always remember you have a huge fan base no matter what the haters have to say, and I hope you add Phoenix to your tour. Love you, Shewit!

Loveeeee the movie, especially the part at the end where it didn't end badly when the engagement broke up...not the typically man or woman needs to move on so let's be mad at each other. Tears appeared to be real .... Like you pulled it from you're heart. Good luck with the movie!
