Kim Kardashian in the Marriage Counselor

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL.  Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least hear me out?

I was in a Mexican restaurant and the cutest little old woman stopped me and said, “I want to talk to you about KAR-DAT- CHA-NEM.” I said, “Ma’am?” She said, “What is wrong with you putting her in the lead role of your movie?” By the time I explained to her that she was not in the lead role and why I thought she should be in “The Marriage Counselor”, she said, “Oh, I see your point and I can’t wait to see the movie.” So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to share with you what I said to her then maybe you’ll see why I wanted her in the film.

This movie is about a young lady named Judith (Jurnee Smolett), who grew up in the countryside of Virginia in a trailer park. She was raised in the church by her mother Sarah (Ella Joyce). Judith married her childhood sweetheart Brice (Lance Gross) and had the perfect life until she graduated college and went to work in the big city.  After college, all she wanted to do was be a marriage counselor, but the only job she could find was working for a matchmaker named Janice (Vanessa Williams). Janice has several employees that work for her, including a woman named Ava (Kim Kardashian). Ava is constantly trying to influence Judith on everything from her shoes to her hair. Judith meets a man at work named Harley (Robbie Jones). Harley challenges everything in her life from her marriage to her husband to her faith. Meanwhile, Brice (Lance Gross), Judith’s husband works at a pharmacy owned by Mrs. Waco (Renee Taylor). Brice has just hired a coworker named Melinda (Brandy), who has some major demons that she is running from. In the end, the choices that both of these young women have made come crashing down on them and their lives will never be the same.  I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

After I finished writing this movie, I sat back and re-read it. Half way through my read, the gravity of what I had written hit me. I knew that this message was not only for my age group, but for all audiences, especially the youth.  ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH!!  YOUNG FOLKS NEED TO SEE THIS!!!   And not just the young people that follow me, but the young people that are following other young people, as well.  I wanted a younger cast, that’s why I put Jurnee in the lead and invited Lance Gross, Robbie Jones and Brandy.  About two months ago, long before I even heard about Kim’s marriage or divorce, I was trying to finish up the casting. I said to one of my producers, “who else is out there that young people are looking up to?” One of my producers showed me pictures that his daughter had taken of several hundred kids lined up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store. They wanted to meet Kim. I thought, what better person! She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!

And lastly, because I believe that my films speak from the inside out, why wouldn’t Kim Kardashian be invited into a film about Faith, Forgiveness and the healing power of God?  What is wrong with that??

I have read your reasoning on using Kim Kardashian in you movie. Again, I say you are GOD sent. GOD uses vessels (human beings) in HIS work. As you have stated why not use Kim Kardashian, also who are we to judge? and Who do we think we are to try and control your concept of your product. Critical people need to find out their own flaw's and fix themselves before trying to fix others thoughts.

Mr. Perry, I want to thank you for being real !!! There are so many people out there that do not balance being "Spiritual " and human. Thanks for showing all of us that being christian in this world means being human. And to all the haters out there about Kim K. Shut up !!! We are all human and if you have time to judge others, then you better have time to fix your life first. Tyler keep doing what your doing, your plays are awesome and God changes lives through your ministry. God came to service real humans that screw up not perfect angles.

Just because people are refusing to support TP with casting KK does not mean they are judging. This is a form of entertainment and you spend your discretionary dollars how you please. If you have a bad experience at a restaurant, you don't return to give them repeat business. If KK and the clan put a bad taste in your mouth don't support it. It is as simple as that. TP my family and I will be sitting on the sideline for this one. We hope to catch you with a blockbuster in the future. Peace.

This is about God's people, not Tyler's fan. Tyler is using his God given gift to share the many messages and lessons from the Holy Bible. Doesn't it say, "lean not to your own understanding ...". It took me many years to grasp those words. Please don't judge one another. Tyler's plays are powerful and reach many that are lost. I am a fan of Tyler Perry and even a bigger fan for GOD. Help comes in many forms. Tyler, keep doing what God leads you to do. I support you.

I have purchased every single DVD you have made and it really disgust me that you would take your fan base as a joke. It's so amazing how money changes people...including you. Kim K..really? Some people will go to that movie only to support Lance, Brandy, Vanessa etc..they certainly woun't be doing it for your ignorant attitude. You're defending Kim as if she's a queen and I can only imagine why any "man" would jump to her defense like you did. Keep thinking your fans can't make a difference if we boycott your movie. Your ego is beyond belief and I don't see you the same at all anymore...GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY MR PERRY AND YOU'RE BEGINNING TO BE A VERY UGLY MAN. Better remember where you came from...the same way God gave it to you he can certainly take it back. You were humble at the beginning but now you're just someone that's blinded by money and will cast the world's biggest h** in order to make profits. All that money you have and you continue to do ignorant things. Pitiful. I'm boycotting your stupid decision and I hope others will too.

Well...you said a mouth full however from all YOUR words I could only think of one thing. Why are you focusing on the messenger and not the message. When you mailman comes to your home and say you looking for your "check"...you don't care if his truck is dirty, his uniform is unkept...all you want is the check (the end result). God uses who HE choses not who YOU or the masses desire. If this were so would a drunk, a prostitue and many other less than godly folk be chosen to deliver a message. Ask God to move all the characters in the movie out of the way and open your heart to the message he has for you to receive. Stop judging Tyler and Kim....for if my words here arent enough....I can reference you to someone elses who should be more than sufficient...Do not judge, or you too will be juded. For in the SAME way you judge others, you will be juded, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Matt 7: 1-2). To Tyler, continued blessings and my the Lord keep a hedge of protection around you and strength you as you fulfill His will and honor His way. Amen.

THE NEWEST THING ON KIM KARDASHIAN: yesterday news reports said that Kim took the wedding gifts she had, sold them and used the money to buy Christmas gifts for her family and friends. Not only does she have money of her own to buy gifts, but most of the people that gave gifts thought she should have given the gifts back since the marriage lasted a few days anyway. NOW.....this is the SAME PERSON that Tyler says people look up to. What??? Yeah she deserves to be one of God's children BUT you have to want tobe one of his children. Her actions continue to show that she is into her won selfishness, money, power and using who ever she can to get what she wants. And SHE is who Tyler says people look up too!!! All I can say now is "WOW"!!

I love each and every one of you and your right to have an opinion and to express it. For those of you who live Christ, if the Internet was available during the time Jesus lived, don't you think these would've been the same things heard when God picked Saul, who had been slaughtering Christians, to write several books of the bible? What about when Jesus began talking with the adulteress as the crowd was ready to stone her (I'm seeing those same stones in these posts)? Come here David who had the husband of his girlfriend slayed at battle, how dare God use him! And lastly' couldn't they have found a more spiritual, deserving, classy, upstanding in the community person to die on the cross next to Jesus instead of that good for nothing "thief"!!! Wasn't any other actor available? And to top it all off, of all the great stories about good and spiritual people who could've been used in the bible, how dare He use these "losers" and put them in the movie - oops - I mean the bible. He came for them and our job is to go after them too! Really.... You're telling me there was no one else willing to die on the cross next to our savior? Or did God purposely use the thief who was getting money anyway he could, robbing old people, taking from the poor, only concerned about himself, destroying families, etc., to breathe his last breath next to our Lord just for a time such as this. Look at the terrible things the important people in the bible did and see how God used them to deliver others. If Kim goes right back to her way of living (i hope not but... Thats not up to us) and 10 babies are delivered after watching this movie - then praise the Lord,,

Tell me has Kim been born again like Saul ...I don't think so...Saul wrote all these books after conversion not before....I support a boycott of that movie....Give Kim another role not a marriage counselor....it defeats the purpose of the character......

I keep on thinking about when Jesus came upon the people who were ready to stone the adulteress, (caught in the very act) and He said to them "He who is without sin, cast the first stone? And they all walked away because none of them were without sin. "And He said to her "Where are your accusers? Has anyone here thought about her soul? And what might happen if she got around some godly people. For God wants none to perish. That's why He saved you and me! The Kardasians are not exempt from salvation. I pray that Tyler will be a force for good, in her life as well, as he has done with his movies, plays and comments.

TP, I'm a huge fan bruh, but I was also a little disappointed in your selection of Kim K. Not for what she represents (which isn't much) but for the fact that you're Tyler Perry. You have f*ck you money now, with a f*ck you attitude....two things that make someone successful in Hollywood. How about casting a Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Garner, women like that. They represent mainstream Hollywood through thier talent and longevity. You did that with Kathy Bates in The Family That Preys, perfect!!!! Keep that formula. Peace and Courage! 2eF
