This Little Letter Changed My Life

I did something about a year ago that was so liberating and freeing. You should try this. I'm telling you, it will help you.

I was asked by CBS This Morning to do a segment called "Note To Self". It's where you write a letter speaking to your younger self. Have you ever done this? If not, you should. What would you say to the child that you used to be? I'm telling you, it's amazing. Try it. Let me know how it moves you. Here's the link to the one that I did.

Mr. Perry when I received your message I couldn't do anything but scream to my husband in the kitchen who ran to rescue me but found himself amazed for a few reasons. One I have found myself doing that and was doing a project on it as well I have written a spoken word and second I wrote a letter doing the same thing (which I would love to share with you, and pray that I would have that opportunity). Lastly, my family and I did a video for you in reference to what you were talking about for your birthday (with you and your mom) but it has come back to me so I think I may have the wrong address. I still have it in the postage paid envelope sealed (and will keep it sealed) and stamped by the P.O. with the FAITH that one day I will cross your path. Even if Madiere is old and retired, lol. Blessings to you, truly.

Just need to say in writing!! I don't know what your trying to prove by thinking your insulting me!! You can your a celebrity everybody will be on your side that's the way of the world!! I may be alone with a small family and only Jehovah GOD as my refuge!! All though I may want some of the creature comforts this world have to offer I'd rather get them fair and square no lies and secrets and not by destroying someone elses!! I don't need a whole bunch of social media and a ton of friends!!! I know what matters in my life and I don't brag or need to impress other people!! when I insulted you last week i put it in GOD's hands!! I have every reason to feel bitter and hurt!! you know it guess that's how you make your MONEY!!

Hi tyler note to myself was an amazeing story, it brought tears to my eyes. Your life and my life is just about the same. A poor girl born and raised in salisbury maryland. A family of 5 living in a 2 bedroom trailer. Wearing the same clothes everyday. Washing our clothes by hand. Sleeping on the mattress cause we didnt have any beds. When winter came there was no heat and my brother and I would sleep on the couch and my sister would sleep with mom and dad cause she was the baby of the family. Never had friends over was too embarrassed about how we lived. No running water, took soda bottles to my grandfather's house and fill them up with water. Warm up the water by the stove. Surronded by mice and roaches and snakes swimming in are kitchen sink. Didn't have a door knob had to put two fingers through the hole, lift the door up in order to get in and out. As years went on my father was selling drugs then got hooked and started useing drugs. He was in and out of rehab for so many years but nothing would work. He was very abusive towards my mom and us as well. Mom decided to leave him in the year 2000. Lived with other relatives, but didn't stay long they always told us to get out or to live in a shelter. Never understood why. Mom always gave them money every pay day. In 2003 we moved to frederick maryland away from all the bad people. Im very proud of myself and my mother as well. Shes a strong woman from leaving a bad situation. Now I'm a nurseing assistant at a nurseing home and I have my own place. It feels good to have your own place don't have to worry about anybody telling me to get out.

I'm not into writing! I'm into praying and out loud since I don't feel i have the privacy that I should have!!! But since you asked I'd write! Dear Angela you've made a few mistakes in your life!! Do to some bad things that happened to you, also just being young and taking what you thought were calculated risk!! You've asked the God of your understanding to forgive you and did what you could to make amends and change some aspects of you life so that you could have peace of mind in body and spirit and raise your children as a role model!! Someone decided that wasn't good enough and started to mess with that peace of mind in ways that scared me to death and I have not been able make sense of it and they refuse to make amends!! Being a single MOM trying to finish nursing school with a B+ average might I add!!, And make a better life for me and my kids!! Now I find myself just trying to get justice and move on!!! Being Fair and true to myself!! Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you!!! That's how I feel and live!!

Hello, The letter to your young self really moved me. I was in tears. Just yesterday, I was thinking of some way to contribute to our upcoming Womens Day program at church. I was thinking we should write a letter to our younger self. There is so much that I would tell my younger self that has made me into the woman that I am today. I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. You being in the this world has really blessed my life more than you know. Continue to be a blessing. Sincerely, Karen

Tyler, This letter and story could have been written to me. I wept as I read it. I also went through much as a child, yet also knew I was destined for better than the life I was living. It's what caused me to press on and eventually step into the ministry God has me in today. Truly, whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Satan is defeated by the blood of the Lamb and word of our testimony. From the very areas where we've been wounded, once healed, comes forth the greatest power and authority to heal others. Our God is an awesome God! Thank you for letting Him use you in such a powerful way to bless so many others! God bless! Joni Ames

Tyler, this was a touching and inspiring letter. I truly felt every word spoken. Many of us have hidden words but are afraid to share them. Hopefully this clip will allow others to share. I myself would have a book if did something like this. Thanks for being you. I will continue to pray for much added success. Be blessed and continue being a blessing!

So inspiring! This is why we love u TP cause u are so real & transparent & u don't mind letting people know u believe in God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit! In your business not too many people do this. Most of us went thru some kind of trauma in our childhood, everything wasn't perfect, we weren't & our parents weren't. But we made it thru and hopefully for the better to inspire & let someone else know that w/God they can too! I think I'm going to write a note to self. Thank u TP! Thank You Jesus! ~MA~

Tyler, that was powerful.. that put me back in my thinking mode.. what u said was so so true. Yes, it hit home. A lot of it. However I'm not 13. But I do see what your saying. Your ability to uplift people is wonderful. And through the years I've learned a lot from Madea, and recently Hattie. You always have a message.. I may not be in life where I want to be, but I do know that I'm going to make it there... God is so so good. Excuse me had to take a praise break. Tyler continue to bless us and God will certainly continue blessing you. Never forget where you come from, that way you will always know where you are going.
