A Short And Sweet Thank You From Me To You

On July 8th, I will be celebrating 20 years in this business. 20 YEARS! WOW! When I started I had one prayer: I asked God to just let me do well enough to take care of my mother. Well, from the time I prayed that prayer until the day she died I was able to do that because of people like you all around the world. I remember the day I told her that she could retire, she said, "baby, are you sure these little plays are going to be able to take care of you and me?" LOL. I said, "as long as my folks keep coming." Then, a few years later, she was at one of my plays looking around at all the people in the audience. After the show she said to me, “the people love my baby"… OK I gotta stop thinking about this… :)

But thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. For every time you have supported a Tyler Perry anything. For all the times you have gone to the movies, for every DVD and for every time you have come out to see my stage shows live. For every time you’ve watched on TV.  You have shown so much kindness and have stayed with me. I just want to say thank you. You have kept a lot of well-deserving people employed, folks who would never have had a shot in Hollywood. You have created a safe place for many to see their dreams come true.

My prayer for you is that everything you have done for me, may it come back to you one-hundred fold.

God Bless,

Tyler

I'll talk more about this today on the live chat at 1:30pm ET at live.tylerperry.com/chat

You may remember me from Birmingham, AL with Madea Gets a Job…I was the white girl wearing the “yes…I am white and I love Tyler Perry” t-shirt. I love your work (own most of it and no…it’s not bootleg) and all that I can say is that I wish that could have seen it 20 years ago. I believe that life without laughter is no life at all and you have made me laugh until I was crying. Keep up the good work! One last thing…if you are going to have your film crew interview people and tell them “Tyler Perry wants your contact info”…call a girl. Just saying. LOL

I receive ur 100 fold blessing!!!! , but i must have you know that you have also been a blessing.....you helped through trying times , your work dug the well of laughter in d deep.. and made sorrow to pass... you passed across.. facts and truth.. in ways preacher never could... you craved a path... braze a trail.. and created opportunities for posterity... I came across your film for the first time way back in Lagos-Nigeria... Family reunion was the first i watched... and i still remember the themes of the elderly counsel....importance of family, the call to men and fatherhood, the caution for girls/women to rise beyond.. the exhibit of nakedness to meaningfulness...since then... i have been hooked....i make bold to say... that save for WITNESS PROTECTION?.... I have seen it all...at least all the films and most of the plays....AND.....?... i have seen you stay TRUE TO YOUR FAITH!!!!... this is what i celebrate MOST in You.........you blow me away every time i catch a glimpse of the rivers of light that flows in and through you..... So Tyler Perry... brother of mine by HIS blood, Proud son of Proud mother Maxine Perry... let me join the rest and add my voice to SAY.... CONGRATULATIONS... TO YOU ON THIS 20YRS OF continous advancement... you have never known a better yesterday... and I pray to God now and forever.. that you will never know a better Yesterday!!!MAY the light of HIS countenance continue to rest on you....!!!From Zenith.....To Zenith!!!! I still remember the first time I saw a Tyler Perry Play. I had moved from NJ to Florida, so I was pretty out of the loop of the latest in music, theater, etc. (Jacksonville was so corny back then.) LOL Anyhow, I went home to NJ to visit in 2000, and I was in the car with one of my friends who kept saying, "Have you heard of Tyler Perry and Madea? You've got to see this play!!! He will make you DIE laughing!!!" I hadn't heard of you yet, and she put the play on while were driving in NYC, and OMMMMG, Tyler that play was the funniest thing I ever saw! It's by the grace of God that I am alive today, because we should have swerved off of the road as hard as we were laughing in that car. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us. Also, please post the live chat video on Facebook because God sent a Word through you that so many of us needed to hear, and perhaps refer back to. LOL!
