For Better Or Worse, Tyler Perry’s sit-com centers around two of Perry’s favorite characters from the big screen- Marcus and Angela. Marcus and Angela were first introduced to the world in Tyler Perry’s blockbuster hit feature films… “Why Did I Get Married”, and “Why Did I Get Married Too”.

For Better Or Worse is a not-so-subtle situation comedy that follows the zany and sometimes tumultuous relationship of the lovesick couple. Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White are back to reprise their roles in the half-hour show. Michael plays Marcus, an ex football player turned sports commentator who owns his own sports talk show. Tasha Smith also resumes her role as Angela, the edgy and outspoken wife of Marcus who is dedicated to her husband, children, and marriage. The show also follows the lives of those who Marcus and Angela call their friends. There is Joseph, Marcus’ best friend and business partner. Joseph is left devastated by his breakup with long-time girlfriend, Leslie. Tired of waiting for a proposal from Joseph, Leslie has moved on to bigger and better things while staying focused on her career and her undying friendship with Angela. Keisha, Marcus’ ex- continues to cause a world of trouble for the group of friends and colleagues. And Jennifer and Todd are still as crazy as ever.

For Better Or Worse is ground breaking television, and is one of the biggest TV shows movie mogul Tyler Perry has ever produced. The sets, high fashion, and the strikingly good looking cast come together to create a truly sexy and provocative half-hour of television. Viewers will experience a fresh approach to the traditional sit-com format that will provide all the elements of well-crafted storytelling and the raw intrigue of reality TV. For Better Or Worse explores the controversial and joyous moments associated with marriage and dating in a 21st Century world. And like always, viewers will leave with life changing messages that have become a trademark of the Perry brand of entertainment. Don’t miss the next Tyler Perry hit… For Better Or Worse.

Hello Tyler, I was married for 23 years we have 5 children. Before marriage we where friends, doing every thing together and he would want to buy me things but I wouldn't let him, because I was a daddy's girl and he taught me not to ask men for anything because if you do then, they will think that they own you. After we got married my husband turned on me and started fighting me a lot; he has done some really bad things to me, I would just say it like this beat down, stomped, drug through the mud and even shot. For better or for worst was part of my vows that I took serious because I knew that God did not like divorcing, so I put up with it; and to top it all my husband suppose to had been a preacher. It took a bullet and a gun to convince me that I am somebody and to love myself enough to say goodbye. It's hard for me to trust again what you think I should do?

You should take some Serious time for yourself and get to know YOU again before getting into another relationship. Signed, Been there, done that and escaped!!

Hey Tyler, I have followed all your plays ,movie and tv shows. It's bad enough that the Brown's aren't coming back. It seems to me that you are going to let Joseph and Lesie get back to gather I really hope not. Me and my crew don't want to see that happen.

I'm with yall on that Ms. King. Joseph needs to grow up! IF Leslie and Chris break up, I hope Mr. Perry does not make it happen because of Joseph. To me it would defeat the purpose of the show. She married Chris right? For Better or Worse! I miss the first run of the new episodes because I don't get in until after 8:00 CST. I watch the encore performances much later. If Leslie and Joseph get back together this season, no way will I stay up and watch another episode,I am losing enough sleep having to get up to get to my day job. I'll just have to pass!

I love the show. I love the way you are going with the show, however I don't like the actor that plays Joseph. He's stiff . Everyone else is on the point. It would be nice if one of Angie's friends from the movie stopped by. P.S. Just consider a new Joseph and please keep Leslie's handsome latino husband. I love that she married him.

I enjoy the show, however, the laugh tracks are distracting. Please remove the laugh tracks from the show. I feel that the laugh tracks are not necessary . Bill Cosby fought with NBC not to have a laugh track his shows. He felt the audience was intelligent enough to know to laugh without having track built in to tell you when you were supposed to laugh at jokes

I truly enjoy this sitcom. I very rarely get a chance to watch TV but I make sure that I do not miss a episode of Better or Worse. I am truly hoping that leslie stays married to Chris. This would make the storyline very interesting. I don't think she needs to stay married to Joseph. With Joseph, there's not much that can change. Overall, I know that this show that is enjoyable to people of many races and a wide age bracket.

Must make a correction to what I just submitted. Didn't mean to say Leslie should not stay married to Joseph. Correction is that I hope that she does not get back with Joseph. But as was originally said but stay married to Chris!!!!!

Mr. Tyler Perry, I am a huge fan of yours and unfortunately I have to address the upsetting episodes of For Better or Worse. The first two seasons were quite intriguing and I enjoyed them very much. I would always be quite excited to see every episode and my feelings were the same for the upcoming season until I watched the first few episodes. As I'm sure you are aware of the laugh track is played entirely too much. I feel somewhat forced to recognize that something said was comedic. (Even though most of the time it isn't because it's irrelevant, repetitive, and has no significance to the plot of the show that would cause me to laugh) I feel as if too much time is spent on the ignorant comments from Jennifer and Todd. Jennifer used to be one of my favorite characters but now every time she says something and a laugh track is played immediately after it I feel as if she's turned into a female version of Todd. (Whom I am not a fan of.) Also, I'm curious to know why Joseph was released from the hospital the same day he was placed in the hospital and he had a concussion among other things. The most disappointing aspect of the new shows is Angela. What happened? She was suppose to be fierce, loud, and hilarious. She appears very drained and very boring. And Keisha....I know her character is meant to be "fast" but why must her husband appear so stupid? No man is going to let his wife be all up on another guy. If it was suppose to be comedic it honestly wasn't because it was constantly recognized by Jennifer and Todd who could not keep their mouth shut. The scenes were slow paced and the acting was not up to par. I'm not sure what is going on when these episodes are being written and I am not a professional but from a viewers perspective I'd just like to say that something isn't right. I idolize you Mr. Perry. I plan to go into the Film/Television business one day and I pray to meet and work with you at least once in my life. I know what you can do because I've seen it all. I've seen many plays9and some in person-which was very exciting for me), and movies and all of your TV shows and I know that what's going on right now with For better or Worse is not truly what you are more then capable of doing. You have millions of fans Mr. Perry and I hope that with my comment as well as many others you are able to rectify the situation and show us once again how creative, hardworking, and miraculous you are. God Bless You Mr. Perry. You will forever have me as a supporter and hopefully in the future a co-worker. :)

Well I didn't expect tears to flow when I listened to your "letter to self". I have always been grateful for my troubled childhood too; realizing now that I was being wired for my lifework. I've just never thought of writing it down before. You truly inspire me.

Please let her stay married to that white man.

    • M Harrison North Carolina #1882238

I surely agree with you. Joseph, an arrogant mama's boy, could not make a decision - misses his water since the well went dry. Putting them together could only end up with a limited number of possibilites - making the story line boring.
