From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

I watch the show and enjoy it. It is total soap and at times I cringe at what I am seeing. The actors and their performances keep me coming back. A great cast with so much talent. I am so glad Veronica's son finally fought back.

Hello, Mr. Perry, I enjoyed the show's finale and thought it had a exciting cliffhanger. I can't wait for it to return and find out what happens. I do hope Wyatt does own up for running down Benny and facing the music but I think it would be a great twist if it turned out he didn't kill the little girl after all. I would like Jim to continue to pay for his sins, even if he doesn't go to jail for covering up Wyatt's crimes he could lose his job on the bench and no longer be a judge. I wonder what he has in store for Candace, since I heard he may take revenge on her. I hope no matter what happens Hanna and Katheryn will eventually manage to salvage their friendship since I think it is the best part of the show. I hope Hanna has it in her heart to forgive Katheryn for her lies regarding Wyatt hitting her son and I would like to see Katheryn go into a new direction in her life finding happiness that doesn't revolve around Jim or Wyatt. I think Celine will expose Jim's affairs plus the two sons the have together which would be good as I would like for their son Carlos be brought back into the storyline and see their youngest child together and finally just where is Celine's husband in all of this. As for David and Veronica, I hope David survives the fire, but don't know if their marriage will, Veronica needs serious help and has gotten too evil, I wonder will she ever be redeemed a bit. As for Hanna I want to see her paired with Michael already but I think it would be interesting if Byron came back helping her with grandson, Hanna should get custody as Candace isn't right now fit to raise him. As for Candace, no matter what happens to her I hope she bounces right up although I think it would be good if she got taken down a notch just like Jim did this season. I still want her and Hanna to mend their relationship. Thanks again for another great season of a one of your best shows.

I love this show... you set the for front of what the other up in coming shows have to measure themselves too... But I got better for you it is a book of hot and steamy romance but there is redemption, love, jealousy you know the typical boy meets girl, fall in love. Boy cant seem to get it right with girl or too ups and downs that keep them apart from each other... The book is called Crossing the Line from Emerald T. Stone.... Bless all that you do, his hand is on you:)

Hello Mr. Perry, the evening drama, "The Haves and The Have Nots" is outstanding. You continue to amaze me as you have been gifted by God with many, many talents and extraordinary gifts. You are an outstanding writer, creator, director and producer. This is apparent by all of the meaningful plays, movies and adventures and dramas which you have shared with the world in the last ten years. But the "Haves and the Have Nots, in my opinion, is truly the best. Further, you are helping minority actors and actresses to share their talents and develop their acting abilities to the fullest. May God continue to bless you in your endeavors, which help and benefit so many other people. Rev. Winfred Stephens
