Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Dear Tyler, Thank you for The HAHN. It's about the only decent thing to watch on Tuesday. I like it that the show is just an hour long. By sitting there watching it, I miss some parts of things that happen, so therefore, I disagree with it being longer than an hour and coming more than once a week. Some of these people that are complaining about the show dragging on about certain subjects, I disagree. The reason I disagree is because some of these same people sit there and watch the soap operas everyday and what do these soap operas do? Drag on and on and on everyday to keep the viewers watching but they're faithful watchers of these shows with no complaints. If they don't like the HAHN, nobody is putting a gun to their heads and making them watch. I do have one question though. Is Tony Benny's father in real life and not just on the show? My reason for asking is they look so much alike.

Why is everyone on Benny's case!? Wow! The man just woke up from a coma and is trying to make up for lost time! And it's about time he started acting like 'the man of the house', instead of letting Hannah treat him like a 5 yr.old! It's bad enough that Jeffrey lets Veronica treat him like that! Benny's showing his strong side...leave him alone!!!

I know. How do they expect him to act?

I think the new guy that was just hired to work with Landon and Maggie is Jim and Selena's son. Yes, I agree with Lorraine. Leave Benny alone. Benny is showing his strong side and acting like the man of the house. Besides which this is Benny's first acting job, so I think people should cut him some slack. However, I thought that Candace showing up at the same time tonight as Benny's dad was to expose him. I think that either Amanda or the Warlock is gonna kill Quincy.

Hi, Coralie! I never thought about that coincidence, but I'm angry that Hannah stood righbt there and didn't tell Benny what dear ol' DAD tried to do to him!! As he stood there smirking @her when Benny went outside, she should have thrown a pan of scalding water on his lowdown @--! I want Benny to find out just WHO he's trying to get to know! Yes, I think Amanda might kill Q if he rejects her crazy advances; the girl is GONE! I don't think Warlock and the crew are gonna get to Jim, b/c Amanda just might shoot him herself! I hope we have a 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' moment next week; that will be a hoot when Q shows up! Can you imagine the dinner conversation? LOL! I thought the junkie that Jim is coercing is Celine and his son, but I could be wrong. I guess the junkie will be brough t in for the line-up to make it look like it was HIM and not Wyatt, since they do resemble each other. Finally, it's sad that the baby is dead, but I expected it all along; it was probably sick and she couldn't afford to take care of it, or maybe it died of SIDS.

Hello Lorraine, The reason I think that new guy is Jim and Celine's son is because of the way he stared at Jim when they were being introduced. For a brief second, it seemed like Jim recognized him too, but shook it off. That guy is there for a reason. It's obvious. I was hoping that Benny's dad was exposed last night too. Hanna needs to stop holding back and might as well tell the truth about her past as well. She is being a little too self-righteous. Veronica needs psych help, she is crazy. I don't know which one is the craziest Amanda or her.

I CALLED IT LAST WEEK...THE BABY'S DEAD AND BENNY'S GOING GANGSTER! I'm so mad that Hannah didn't tell Benny about what a lowdown b-----d his daddy is! Since Benny wants to know the truth, she ought to tell him!! I'm tired of Amanda; let's get this mess over with! Let her shoot JIM, then Celine! I do hope Quincy has the nerve to show up for dinner to see the look on all their faces!

At dinner, I think Catherine will remember the name Quincy and figure out who he is. At least I hope so.

    1. Okay I can't wait for Quincy to go to dinner lol. Amanda is hilarious! 2. I'm not sure if anyone has said this but I think I figured out the purpose of Selene. Her son is Jim's son. 3. Benny is still annoying. 4. Wyatt is just as bad as Jeffery. Neither act their age and under parents control.

Also I do agree with everyone who says the show is too slow. Due to the fact that this show only airs once a week and very few episodes during the season, the pace needs to be accelerated. It's a great show but everything is being dragged out!

I hear ya Deborah, I'm also in St. Pete and was shocked to see Brighthouse Networks post that message. I get both analog and digital channels, but for some reason cannot get the digital channel that they switched this show to....real bummer! I cannot even stream it through Amazon. So I guess the show lost at least 2 of us viewers in St. Pete.

Hello, T.P. enjoying the show. Once a week is a long time to wait, but I have know choice. lol. I look at the parts that the casts play as facts of life. I read and see the different complaints of other's. I think the show is right on point on what's going on in the world, and it is a known reality that it is no way near are near perfect. Would we like it to be sure we would. You just keep doing what you have been doing. As we know every will not be please. Thanks to OWN for airing your sitcom's/series. Thank's

When is Jeffery going to grow a pair? He's a grown man but still acts like he's a kid.

I faithfully watch this show, but it is too slow, and presents like a play. All the characters are just talking, standing or sitting around. Even the housekeeper doesn't seem to have anything to do. And shouldn't the two families have busier schedules since the husbands are running for office? Shouldn't Jim be busier than he is? Never any meetings in his office, at his house.... And why doesn't Wyatt do anything besides stay locked up on his room? In reality he would definitely be back on drugs with all the stress he is under. Just sayin

What happened to Benny? His acting skills has gotten bad since he was in a coma. He acts like he's "slow" Love the show though.

I enjoy and look forward to Tuesday nights. Please don't make us wait so long for the next season. I know its sounds awful but, I think Candace baby shouldn't be dead because that will close the door on Mother & daughter relationship. The baby should have some kind of a physical condition that requires round the clock nursing care. JUST LOVE, LOVE THIS SHOW..

Hands down on Gavin Houston! He's awesome. The car scene with him and his mother (Angela Robinson), AMAZING! It made me kind of upset with her Tyler, and that's why it was amazing! Wow...

Tyler, I absolutely love your work and creativity. However, Benny's character (Whewww!), why is he so angry? He was not as angry, nor as confident last season. He was more humble. Now, he's awake from his coma and immediately is flirtatious, rude and arrogant, just snappy. Maybe it's from the coma??? I don't get it. Now, I'm watching the episode about him coming home (Benny's Party), and he cries while hugging and kissing his mother, I loved that scene (very sincere). Well it was a bit ruined because a neighbor says hello and says hello back , but he acts like he wasn't just crying, his emotional transitions are not smooth... he really needs a character analysis session badly. Thank you for having this message center and hearing our voices!
