From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Mr. Tyler Perry can you please run the season finale again please!! Thanks for your hard work I like all the shows you do and I thank you very much for them!! I can't live without them either lol. Thanks Mr. Tyler.

The season finale was promising and much better than the last few, but the storylines are just getting to be drawn out and boring. We will have had another presidential election by the time the Georgia gubernatorial race even starts. The acting is still way over the top and the dialogue and direction amateurish. Tyler needs to really move on. The characters are interesting, but they have limits. New storylines next season -- please. Also, I love the posts praising Tyler as a Christian. I'm not really certain why that is such an issue on this board, but I doubt he worries about his religion much.

So addicted to HAHN, could you lighten up on Jeffrey. It would be nice to see him finish school and use his education to help abused homosexuals with his personal experience. His mother is just too evil to have such a hold over him. His father should encourage him to finish school and get a life. I'm looking forward to June. Stay Blessed, Sharon

Jeffrey isn't in school...he's a THERAPIST @his mother's rehab clinic!!! I admit, he often ACTS like a child where his mother is concerned, but his occupation was established @the very beginning of this show; he was Wyatt's counselor (and friend), who was to make sure Wyatt stayed 'clean' (and he also had a crush on him); didn't you hear him w/the cop? He told him as a therapist, he knew he was 'in the closet' and trying to cover, and urged him to get help! Candace is the one who needs to get her b*** back to law school and graduate, take the bar and move on and take care of little Q, who she claims to love, instead of running w/that high-yella heifer and lying and scheming her way through life!

Hi Tyler. Tuesday nights is my choir rehearsal nights and I missed 48 hours. Not sure why my DVR did not record but is there another way for me to see this episode?

I follow the show only because it is a Tyler Perry product. The show needs to seriously improve in the following areas: 1. The writing has become trite and predictable; 2. Direction is lacking; the actors aren't believable in their delivery; the dialogue is stilted; the timing is off; the responses do not appear to be spontaneous. 2. Hair and make-up artists can do MUCH better work. Give "Candace" a facial so that she can appear without blemishes (acne), and please do a much better job of blending her natural hair into that weave. 3. The only believable acting is coming from "Hanna Young" and, occasionally, "Kathryn".

I like this show for many reasons it is another hit for Tyler Perry I hope he doesn't kill Veronica off what needs to be done is everyone should join together against Jim and teach him a lesson he would never forget please don't kill Wyatt either it would not make any sense to do that now because if that happens then Jim would go free and we don't want that not at all no one needs to die at all we had enough killings this season hopefully you will consider my request also I know others would not want any killing at the end I still love the show keep up the great work this is my favorite

When Hannah told Candace she could no longer be prayed for I almost cried. I was shocked. Might have been the best scene yet. I love Candace and all of her scandolous ways. I may have not hit my mother back, but I understand her pain. I am real upset that Veronica knows about Quincy, he belongs in that backyard buried. I really was hoping Veronica walked through that door and got shot. It is time for her b*** to get off the show. She is just horrible. Oh yea, and let David and Maggie hookup and be a couple. I just plain out do not like Veronica.

I agree with you. I don't think Maggie should have even gone to meet Veronica..she knows that Veronica hates her, and why did'nt she let David know that Veronica had called her?

I enjoy all your work Tyler !! But I do have one problem... You never or should I say your team never got around to releasing the final volumes of House of Payne on DVD! I was kinda thrown off cause I thought it was coming but it didn't !! & you haven't gotten around to releasing any of the other shows! The haves & have nots, for better or worse, if loving you is wrong, and love thy neighbor! I am still waiting for the madea on the run DVD too. Hopefully we'll get that by the release of Madea's Halloween... Please have someone at lionsgate release the DVD's or you release them from your studio maybe? I don't know... I'm just confused as to why the fans get NOTHING .. To be completely honest, the only reason I mainly have cable besides grey's, scandal & HTGAWM is bc of your shows!! And if my DVR doesn't record the show I'm screwed because I have to figure out how I can watch the episode!! I am very dissapointed Tyler......

That last episode had my heart beating like a m********** keep up the good work!!! its getting intense

The mid-season final was awesome. I hope that Wyatt is still alive by some miracle. I wonder what Jeffrey and Candace are going to do now that they know Veronica knows about Quincy. Katherine scared the pants off of the DA . Hannah and Candace broke my heart especially when she slapped her mother back that is something the child should never do you don't ever hit a parent for any reason. Veronica is a evil woman setting Maggie up to go into her house and get shot she is just awful. Looking forward to June 21st when H&HN return can't wait have a nice spring Mr. Perry. Great work keep it up.

When Hanna told Candace God told her not to pray for her no more - WOW And Candace asking Hanna who prays for her and Hanna said "Jesus Blood!" I will share and remember those lines forever.

    • Patricia Jackson #2175966

I really can't stand Hanna and her holier than thou attitude..She went to Candace's house, and made people leave, told Candace to shut up in her own house, and then hit her..I wish Candace had hit her like she did the social worker! That may seem hard because she is her mother, but Hanna was wrong, wrong, wrong.. She hates Candace, but she wants her child, she has no place to live, no money, no car, and too proud to stay with Bennie, because Candace bought the house, but she wants Candace to just give her child to her...Hanna is out of control, just like when she ordered grown man Wyatt around in his house...Unreal.

Just wanted to comment on the final episode which featured Veronica pouring the chemical luminol all over Candace,s floor and walls to expose Quincy,s blood. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I have never heard of anyone being abl to mix luminol in advance and carry it around in a bottle to later douse it a suspected crime scene. Once mixed I believe that luminol is sprayed onto a suspected crime scene, and that the glowing effects lasts for no more than 30 seconds at most! If I am wrong please accept my appology Mr. Perry!
