From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

I missed the last show :-( Is there any place I can watch it?

Hi! Check on OWN on Tuesday nights. Not this Tuesday because that episode (Starting The Race) isn't there. Just check every Tuesday because I'm sure they will show that episode again before the new season starts. Peace...MJ

Ths. I do see in the Tuesday's U-Verse Guide that the program will run from 7 pm - 2 am but reading each episode these are reruns but not the last two episo0des. I'll keep checking. I'm 77 and never did like "soap operas" but this program + Scandle and Grey's have been GREAT!

Love the show… Good stuff. When I first started watching I thought I was a soap opera show and I was not interested… Soon, I realized how great the show was and can’t wait for the season 3 to start. I did not get to watch season 1. If anyone can give me insight on how to access season 1 without paying for it, please let me know. Thanks!

I hope that Hanna and Katheryn will remain friends. As far as Candace is concerned, she might be down and out for a little while, but she won't stay that way for long. To quote her "she is a bad b***** Peace...MJ

Can you please make series of sitcoms???? I have all your plays/movies but i unfortunately havent had cable for 3years due to job layoff & everybody keeps telling me that i have to see all your shows "

Not really happy about the way the show ended to start another season. It was on for a really short time before it stopped. Tyler I think it's better to give a more full picture hyatias because the ending wasn't smooth .

Just wondering how Tyler is going to introduce Amanda's pregnancy in the next season, or is that going to be a cliffhanger at the end of the next season?? Don't forget this avid fans. And we as the viewers want to see Benny live. We don't care how you start his brain activity and introduce him recovering.

If I recall correctly Amanda was not pregnant it was a false positive. Her and Candice talked about it.

I did not watch the show from the beginning. How can I see all the previously aired episodes so I can catch up? I've heard such good things!

Hiatuses are REALLY stupid when you think about it! They give the viewer time to find other interests. As much as I love the haves and the have nots, I have moved on. I have now become addicted to Scandal which is absolutely awesome! I was able to start watching the show from Season one, episode one on Netflix (.....hmmmm? What a concept) and then I was able to watch ABC on demand (....hmmmm? What a concept) to catch right up to the current episode which aired last night. With each passing day, I am missing the haves and the have nots less and less, and less....and by May I will have absolutely no problem DVR'ing The episodes since I will have been without them for so long. Oh, make no mistake about it, I will be tuning in when the show returns, but now I have had a taste of some other drama series and .....I LIKE....I LIKE!!!!! So Tyler better bring it because now my expectations are waaaaaaay higher than BEFORE I became a gladiator!!! So once again, I feel hiatuses are stupid. It's like being in a loving monogamous relationship and at the peak of the love and excitement, you decide to take a break from the relationship and both "see other people" for 3 mos. Well....maybe you can rekindle the relationship, and maybe you can't......... Maybe you can HAVE and maybe you will HAVE NOT! Remains to be seen! Nevertheless, hiatuses are stupid! Aaaaaah! I feel better!

    • MJ FL #1937028

OH NO PLEASE DON'T GO! :-) You make a great point. Going on hiatus every couple of months isn't going to cut it. Like you stated, Angel, people will loose interest, find something else to watch or just totally forget about it. Mr. Perry, if you want to keep your fans coming back for more, please give us what we want and I'm quite sure the viewership will increase and THATHN will be even more successful. Peace...MJ

True love will never fade away! My opinion, it's not about whether or not one loses their interest. It's about loyalty. To make such a statement as the previous two says you were not undying fans to begin with. Stay positive and give praise for fine work instead of presenting dares to prove that your approvals must be met. Not pleasant if such a proposal were to be place upon you. now would it. Just an opinion ...

    • Angel Ny #1937627

Well you sit around waiting for love......good luck with that! ROFLMAO!!!! If I am going to be a devoted viewer, then I expect the network to be a devoted provider! Hmpf!

  • ellen Suriname

cant wait for the next season

  • Carol Illinois

I love this show as well, but do agree with another person about some of the scenes are really unrealistic such as in the hospital, but will watch!

  • JRoc85

Tyler Perry, you're KILLING IT with "The Haves and Have Nots" on OWN!!! You & Oprah are a match-made in "television heaven." Keep up the great work, & I can't wait until the show returns in May!!!
