Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

When Hanna told Candace God told her not to pray for her no more - WOW And Candace asking Hanna who prays for her and Hanna said "Jesus Blood!" I will share and remember those lines forever.

I really can't stand Hanna and her holier than thou attitude..She went to Candace's house, and made people leave, told Candace to shut up in her own house, and then hit her..I wish Candace had hit her like she did the social worker! That may seem hard because she is her mother, but Hanna was wrong, wrong, wrong.. She hates Candace, but she wants her child, she has no place to live, no money, no car, and too proud to stay with Bennie, because Candace bought the house, but she wants Candace to just give her child to her...Hanna is out of control, just like when she ordered grown man Wyatt around in his house...Unreal.

Just wanted to comment on the final episode which featured Veronica pouring the chemical luminol all over Candace,s floor and walls to expose Quincy,s blood. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I have never heard of anyone being abl to mix luminol in advance and carry it around in a bottle to later douse it a suspected crime scene. Once mixed I believe that luminol is sprayed onto a suspected crime scene, and that the glowing effects lasts for no more than 30 seconds at most! If I am wrong please accept my appology Mr. Perry!

I really like the show, but something is truly missing in the writing. The house keeper and her sons are not shown anymore, Candice mother is all over her, to long of story line , Veronica to much over the top. Wyatt all over the place. ( Tyler Perry I love all that you do but if you want this show to continue it's success no offense it needs work. Every friday night ten of my friends and I prepare for a haves and haves not c******* party, we are slowly loosing interest. What is going on.

I agree with Tina, I love the show and you even more Mr. Perry. However, the show is all over the place and no one is happy. And the way black people are portrayed is unreal, at least I've never seen anybody act like War, Ugh it just makes me nausea. And beating up a social worker and she's crooked too. Just to much

Tyler I think you should focus on this show more because it's very intense but too short. I can't stand it when you make us wait for months to continue another episode. I wait, lokk forward to seeeing this show every Tuesday.

I would like to say this is by far the best show I like to watch on Tv. Being an aspiring actor, it motivates me to work harder towards my dreams so I can be on a Tyler Perry Production one day.

Personally I like Veronica It's crazy but I do and I think Hannah should forgive wyatt and help Catherine but at da same time Wyatt is gonna pay 4 what he did and Jim needs 2 rot in Jail and Candace needs 2 apologize 2 her mom

Hannah finally got it back. I'm one to respect your parents but she takes it to the extreme. Always in her face. Never giving benefit of doubt. That slap deserved one back. Hannah wanted to keep going at her, while Candace was sitting down.

I agree with you Nookie ! No Veronica or Hannah for that matter, no show. People complain about Hannah 's character being too holier than thou but think about how strange the show would be if no one in it had any sense of whats right and wrong or no sense of morality. Could we really take watching people behave only evil all of the time!

TP I must say this is the most intense show I ever seen in my life and the best.Im also looking to do some acting and after I watched lastnite show I was in tears, this show and the actors are the best I ever seen in my life and I watch a lot of shows I have no idea where you found these actors but every one deserves some kind of award they all played the parts so well.I really wish you would come out with a DVD for this show I could watch it over and over and I been watching this show from the start and cannot wait till June 2016.I really hope when I get my chance in acting I will be half as good as all the cast from this show. Love you TP keep up the good work.

The actors have really up their game and is giving 110% I'm in love with all of the men, especially Jeffery, being a black g** male he inspires many to live our lives with dignity and pride. Please let the entire cast know that their millions of fans will be waiting until the return of the next season . Veronica is supposed to be in her 50s, which as we've already heard is around Hanna's (Candaces mom) age. She's about to be a grandma herself, so she's not having any Morris's, as most women in their 50s are not medically able to do anymore. Maybe she will hire Hanna as Jeffrey & Melissa's nanny :)

There are many problems with the dialogue. Tyler seems to use "what" and repetitive dialogue to build the suspense. He should rely more on the actors' ability to drive the dramatic effect of his show.
