Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Bummer!!!! I missed the show. DVR mishap. Wish they would would re-air the season premiere on 1/6/15 again before the next episode like they did the last season. Keeping my fingers crossed. WHO GOT SHOT!

The only reason tyler did this was because his viewing audience is African American and he just wanted to treat us like low down uneducated people.

I simply love this show and TP, but was a bit disappointed last night because we still don't know who was shot after months of waiting! i hope amanda shot herself because she is the worse actress on earth! "eenie, meenie", my foot! she makes me want to shoot myself! what i want to know is, what is the name of the song that was playing at the beginning of the party scene while Hannah and David were flirting? Love the song!

I was also disappointed with last night's show. Did crazy Amanda shoot herself? her mother? Why was Jim in Kathryn's bed? They never sleep together. And why did Hanna invite the little girl's grandfather to the party. His grand daughter died, what did he have to celebrate about. I was glad, David finally got it on with that woman and glad to see that rotten Veronica will catch them. I can't wait to see that.

Now what really happened last night? I expected to see the police, ambulance, and a bunch of hollering and screaming at the Criers because someone is supposed to be dead. What is the deal with Hanna and Benny? Benny acts more like a husband than a son. Anyways, how can Benny get out of the hospital, recover so quickly, becomes so hard; shouldn't he be thanking God that he is still alive. Last night should have been what everybody has been really waiting on- where the heck is Amanda and Kathryn-that is where we left off. I hope by the next episode Jeffery is not g** anymore because his part is being stretched too far. Also, if Jeffery is not gay, then why keep making him play the part of a g** person. Well, I could go on and on, but I just hope the next episode is a blast so that I can keep watching.

VERY DISSAPPOINTED, it does not make any sense that you would not let us know who was shot in the first episode, after the long wait. I am done, will not continue to watch. It is also becoming unrealistic, if I had to use one word it would be, stupid.

I never watched the first episode (Never heard of it before) but last night while browsing thru the channels I stumbled upon it. Lo and behold, I was hooked, but not for the right reason. I couldnt believe how pooly written and d*** this show was. first of all, the scene where this girl invited the guy to her house, then he goes in to her fathers's office and after a few minutes started throwing punches at her dad. Everyone in the living room went to the father's study after the father had a busted eye and lip. what is this movie all about? FATHER HELP ME SO I WILL NOT FIND MYSELF WATCHING ONE MORE INCH OF THIS NONESENSE. :) AMEN.

I agree with you Angel. Last night's show was awful. How could we not find out who Amanda shot. Did she shoot herself, or her mother. The show just didn't make sense. Tyler you better get on the ball or you will loose some viewers.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED FOR THE LAST TIME! I will continue to watch the show, but I will DVR the whole season and binge watch! Not that you care, not that OWN cares... I tried to hang in there with you...but you play too many games! A million commercials, not revealing who was shot after waiting since July 2014 to find out....I mean really? Did you think there was no end to our patience and tolerance for this type of mess!? Read your fan posts! I just read them on facebook and on twitter and I have NEVER seen so many disappointed fans EVER!!!!! Too bad, you really had a beautiful show here that could have shot to the moon if done properly. I think your association with Oprah was the worst thing you could have ever done! Seems all of your shows have gone down hill since your association with OWN. For Better or Worse is horrible as well and I am DVR only with that show now too! Your shows are no longer worthy of my time and attention...meaning I will not watch them live! I will binge watch at the end of the season! I tried Tyler....can't hang witn you anymore....not that you care!

Love me some TP but it was a total disappointment tonight!!! I thought is was very corny and there was no storyline. Also, who got shot? Where was Katherine? Why does Bennie look crazy? And why was everyone dancing to a different speed than the speed of the music. That whole scene at Hanna's house just seemed so fake, not believeable at all. The acting was poor. I was looking for a more powerful and electrifying beginning. Too drawn out.

The show on Tuesday was really drawn out and not good. TOO MANY COMMERCIALS. The story lines stupid and the acting at times terrible. The only good scene to me was with Veronica. Why wait so long to reveal who the person was that got shot. You know this soap started out pretty good. Please try to get back to the good writing and not so many commercials. Tyler u don't need that many commercials for this show, but if the rest of the shows are like this one for the new season you are going to lose your customers. Also Tyler when you edit your shows please look at the episode because some scenes are so fake. I like soaps but this episode was not good. Lovingly Ms. Wright
