Description:

From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Mr. Perry, I loved, loved, loved season 1, and I understand this is only t.v. not real life, but this is starting to get a little ridiculous and waaay to unrealistic. I really want to continue to support you and Ms. Winfrey, but to much foolishness is going to make me turn the channel. Hanna sitting in the waiting room for two episodes was my first turn off. Not that people don't wait, but that was too much (for me). Then when the doctor tells her Benny is brain dead it's in the waiting room full of other people, right (sarcasm). Okay then last night's episode with Candace yelling at the receptionist who the doctor later called nurse, oh okay. Candace then finds the operating room by walking out the door she walked into to the waiting room, ok, maybe that is how hospitals are built in Atlanta. Then yelling at the doctor who is in the middle of an operation, oh okay to that too. It's all just to UNBELIEVABLE! And why was Hanna back in the waiting room after already visiting with Benny in his hospital room/bed? Huh??? Now if brain dead Benny (who's character I did like) is somehow resurrected, Mr. Perry, I will be done. And if Benny is not an organ donor, that biological daddy can serve Hanna with a million injunctions, they mean nothing. Benny is a grown man and that biological (who was NEVER a part of Benny's life) is NOT next of kin, Hanna is and that biological has absolutely NO RIGHTS.

I agree with you Betty. Tina, you need to calm down. I know its insane and that some of the things in the show are not realistic, but its just a soap opera! There is SUPPOSED to be drama!! Whether it be crazy drama or just plain sad drama! You're not obligated to watch the show anyway! I understand that you have your opinions (we all do), but sometimes, a great show just has to have a crazy script behind it. ;)

I absolutely positively love this show. Sure, it's no perfect and some of it isn't realistic, but in my humble opinion, it is still a great show!!! It's entertaining, exciting. It's like a roller costal ride, keeping you on the edge of your seat. It just totally takes your breath away. This season is by far my favorite season. Kudos to you, Mr. Perry. Next Tuesday cannot come soon enough for me. Peace...

How can everyone be so blind to, The Mentally insane daughter? How can they be so clueless? Not to mention Wyatt Now he wants a boyfriend huh imagine that..... I knew Veronica was going to get it soon as it went in the air!!! Not to mention the blond that is handling the public affairs for the political race they are getting into and doesn't have things the way he thinks he does. I can't wait to see how Candice handles the truth on what really happened and all h*** is going to break loose........

Love the show. Can't get enough. An amazing cast and suspensful plot that is constantly twisting and turning. We look forward to every Tuesday night. Please make a way for us to view previous episodes on Xfinity on "Demand".

Since Benny is dead, I'm wondering why this is dragging out. Brain dead is dead. There is no coming back from that.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!! Every evening after dinner, my husband and I retreat to two separate rooms to watch TV. He's into SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS, MSNBC and ANYTHING relating to "aliens". I managed to get him to watch one episode of this show with me and now -HE'S HOOKED TOO!! Tyler Perry, bringing families together. What could be better? My only criticism: Get rid of Amanda. She's just not interesting and a waste of time that could be spent on other well developed characters. I don't really care what happens to her.
