From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

I have one question Mr. Tyler Perry..Why are you making your audience and fans wait until January? I can see maybe November .... By Jan the show might not be as exciting as I it is now..Just asking ..and I still love your work..:)

My question is why on the last episode didn't Amanda go into her father's bedroom? She went back and forth from her brother's room to her mother's room. Does she already know what happened to Jim? Also everybody leave Hanna alone. She's wonderful. As with her coldness toward Candace, she's fed up with her after trying to straighten her out all these years.

I wondered why Amanda didn't go into Jim's room too. Maybe it was just a writing error, since Tyler knew Jim had been kidnapped, he mistakenly left Jim out of Amanda's silly room hopping or maybe she saw him get kidnapped and we'll see that next season. @ Hannah, I look at it like this: No doubt Candace is a piece of work and has weighed heavily on her mother's heart for a long time. But I believe if she had done something abhorrent enough for her mother to hate her, I think Benny would not try so hard to make them make amends. He would understand why Hannah hates her and he'd even be mad at her too. The fact that he is not, tells me that Candace in all her antics has never done anything so bad that she deserves the treatment she gets from her mother.

Hannah sees HERSELF in Candace! Hannah was a 'loose' woman, messing around w/married men! Benny and Candace have two different fathers; clearly, she hated Candace's father more than she hated Tony; maybe she thought there might be a chance w/Tony, which is why Benny is her favorite, but we see how that turned out! You know how it is when women 'dog out' the men that did them wrong to their children; Hannah took her negative feelings about Candace's father out on HER, and Candace just chose to make her mother's life miserable! I think they'll come to an understanding next season, through the baby; I believe Hannah's right, the baby may not be dead! Maybe Candace and Q will get together the right way!

Greetings! The show starts again on January 6th in 2015. But what I don't know, if that's the beginning of season 3, or the continuation of season two. Peace...MJ

Hope all is well with the HAHN Staff. I know this maybe a long shot, but please don't ruin David's good Guy character. I need him to remain pure of infidelity. The scene should playout something like the following. Maggie is passed out and David realizes where he needs to be at home with his wife. He drives home and have a familar scene like Quincy had with Veronica without the rejection. David gets into bed with Veronica initiates and have passionate love making. Then he lays down the law of the land verbally as it pertains to family putting her in her place. He states he is back home and will remain there and so will she; he also reiterates he is the head of the family and household.

I consider myself an optimist I didn't have an issue with the finale to me it leaves more room for bigger things to come and I can't wait Mr Perry is awesome just so talented honestly I would never see wrong in him or Ms Winfrey. The only issue I have is not being able to purchase past seasons I would love to get my mother up to date she doesn't get own network and she is the one that started me watching she won't let me tell her the latest so hopefully the powers that be will contact on when and where to purchase (wink-wink). This is why I can't twitter i'm to long winded. Love you all God bless

I have mixed feelings about the finale. I wish it showed who was suppose to die and sad we'll have to wait until January to find out. Also wasn't there suppose to be a shocking twist? I didn't see that either. I wished they showed more scenes of Hanna and Candace. Despite what many viewers say, I like Hanna's character and understand her attitude toward Candace because of the life she's chosen. She is quite believable as a imperfect Christian woman who struggles with her own issues including the conflict between her and Candace and hope they bond more in the next season. I hated that David may have caved in to Maggie but Veronica did push him away and drove him into her arms. Veronica seems too delusional I just need to know the back story of why she is the way she is and so obsessed with Jeffery's sexuality. She wants too much control over Jeffery's life that is unhealthy. I also want David to get out of Jim's orbit, because he brings him down. David can be a good moral character when he is away from Jim. Wyatt, Jeffery and Amanda are just the weakest characters on the show. I feel sorry for Wyatt and believe he has real remorse for his actions but he has been too coddled by his parents and needs to man up and own up to what he did rather allow others to protect him. Jeffery needs to get out from under his mother's thumb and be who he is besides how can Veronica blackmail Jeffery if another person has confessed to the crime and Jim showed a fake evidence of the car being driven. That whole story is getting ridiculous. Amanda is just unstable but she finally knows about Jim and Candace. Katheryn should have at least told her if Jim wouldn't. The best part of the show was Jim getting a beat down by Quincy and later getting kidnapped by Candace's friends. After behaving like a nasty j*** this season thinking he's above everyone and everything, he finally gets him comeuppance and I cheered when those things happened to him. I still wonder why was Jim sleeping in Katheryn's bed, he has his own bedroom? Was he so shook up after the beaten that he couldn't sleep alone? I can't wait to what happens in the next season.

The reason Veronica still has power over Jeffrey, Wyatt, and Jim is because she has the car which will have Wyatt's DNA inside (as the driver) and it will also have Lizzie blood on it (little girl who was killed) and Benny's Blood. Even though someone "confessed" and it seems the issue is over with it is not. If Jeffrey or Jim p*** Veronica off, all she has to do is go to the police and tell them that she has the real car. They will do all of the investigating etc. and the DNA evidence and the damage to the car will prove that THAT car is indeed the vehicle that was involved in the hit and run and it will totally expose Jim as a corrupt Judge who tampered with evidence, and obstructed justice to save his son. Jim and Wyatt both would be arrested and go to jail. As far as Jeffrey is concerned, he is in love with Wyatt.....he doesn't want to see Wyatt go to jail and so he is putting up with all of this c*** from his mother to protect Wyatt. (Must be some kind of love.....I wouldn't do all of that to save anyone but myself! Huh!)

Hello Mr. Perry, I missed the last episode. Where can I watch the finale Have and Have Not on the internet?

  • Darlene

OMG!!!! Just watched the finale and I NEED MORE!!! Bravo Mr. Perry!!!

Hi Tyler! Love the show and have been tuned in since Day 1. However, I have to agree the season finale was a disappointment. Some of the scenes were very awkward. Being the very observant person that I am...I noticed after Jim was beaten up by Quincy when everyone was outside and knowing that he was just attacked why was everyone just standing there? Like why didn't they yell at him to "get out here before we call the cops" or something? Then when Jim yells the first time "Everyone go back inside"...Jeffrey was right next to him and just disappears from the camera and everyone else is still there? Like did he just magically disappear or? Because I definitely did not see him go in. Also I would think in order for him to have went in he would've had to cross over Jim and David. A few editing errors there. Now the finale could've been a little longer IMO. If it couldn't have been, give us enough drama where we will be left picking our mouths off the floor or talking about it for weeks. Like others have stated there were a lot of unanswered questions. For example where was Benny? He didn't get any camera time last night. What ever happened to the professor? Also, the storyline does seem a bit stretched a bit. Most of this half of the season was pretty much the same day. Some of the scenes were awkward for example: Tony and Hanna. When he showed up at Hanna's place and they stare at each other after Benny left for like 2 mins LOL! Please don't rush this show it has so much potential. If need be bring in some writers into assist you. Juggling more than one show at a time is very stressful. And maybe you should consider just focusing on one show at a time and make it bigger and better before moving on to another. Let it be great! Love and Blessings!

I agree with you, but this episode was a very vague way to end the season...like too much info to keep track of between now and Jan 2015,,,,,Maybe a 2 hour finally will work better

That scene was supposed to be a miracle performed by God. Remember Hannah was singing and praying for him daily to perform a miracle on her son.
