From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Can anyone (especially Mr. Tyler Perry) tell me where I can watch the first two seasons of The Haves and The Have Nots? I hadn't seen it, although I would like to. I particularly don't like to watch shows that I hadn't followed because I've missed so much. So please let us know where we can watch the other seasons (for free). Other than that keep up the good work! Thank you

I have been counting down the days until the Haves and the Have Nots return. I love this show and all the cast in it. As well as MY Tyler Perry...

Mr. Perry, I admire you and the work you do. Your latest project is trying to uplift southwest Atlanta with purchasing Fort McPherson. You are a Christian man who is using his blessings of success and fame to improve the lives of others. I was excited about the Haves and Have Nots when I first heard about it because I am old enough to remember when Friday nights were must-see tv with Dallas and Falcon Crest. I living in the Atlanta area now but I lived most of my life in NJ. I was in school in Newark, NJ at the time and I remember how my husband and I would get a delicious pizza (I do miss NJ pizza and Italian food) and settle in for a Friday night of great television! And we were in our twenties, but the television shows were so good that you couldn't miss them outside of something extraordinary. Shows like that got you invested in the characters and the story lines-television today is almost void of that. All of these mindless reality shows with loud mouth, trashy people. Quite sad. When you brought The Haves and Have Nots to television, I was excited. I love the show, but my only objection is the fact that is disappears for months at a time. Dallas and Falcon Crest were on every Friday until memorial Day weekend but then they would be back Labor Day and there were the re-runs to keep you engaged. Why does the Haves and Have Nots show diappear for so long? This last time I almost forgot about it and lost interest. Is it a cost issue or a writing issue? I am watching a re-run on OWN as I type this on June 29th at 2pm......trying to re-aquaint the audience so they tune in again?

I have to agree the acting is not that great. And some of the lines repeat - "did you see it?", "did you see what?" "did you see it?" But none the less - I love the drama. Looking forward to every episode!!!! TP is talently blessed!!

I am so excited for the new season to start, that was absolutely crazy the way it ended last season with Veronica going completely off her rocker and setting the house on fire with her husband upstairs sleeping. Each season has only gotten better and I have every confidence that Tyler Perry will not disappoint us this season.

I have watched the show from the begimnning and I love it. Last nights eposide was great. Loved the dialouge between Candance and Veronica. I was a little sad that Amanda did not get a proper funeral and send off. I love drama, but too much drama at a funeral. Someone could have spoken on her behalf. We waited a whole season to have her funeral, and in my opinion, the eposide was about everything and everyone except Amanda. Amanda, RIP.
