From prolific, writer, director, producer Tyler Perry, The Haves and the Have Nots is a new television drama that follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent mansion set in Savannah, Georgia.

From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth, but behind the veil the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege. Cryer family patriarch Jim Cryer (John Schneider) is a powerful judge whose double-life, including tawdry affairs with high-priced escorts, puts his family and political ambitions at risk. His wife, Katheryn Cryer (Renée Lawless), is the ultimate matriarch portraying a loving and dutiful wife, but she is willing to do anything to protect her family’s status. Their son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) is a troubled angry jock who cares little for his own image and finds himself in and out of rehab. His sister Amanda (Jacyln Betham), a struggling law student, tries harder to live up to her parents’ expectations, but unknowingly has befriended a scurrilous young woman, Candace Young, with the power to ruin the entire family.

Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer’s maid and the matriarch of her family. Despite having no money, she has found other types of wealth through religion and virtue. She prides herself on her dutiful son Benny (Tyler Lepley), the glue who helps keep the family together. Hanna does have one dark secret, however, her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter)—a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Other characters in the series include the Cryer’s chef Celine (Eva Tamargo), their wealthy friends Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David Harrington (Peter Parros), and son Wyatt’s rehabilitation counselor, Jeffery Harrington (Gavin Houston).

Saw the play last night "Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned and enjoyed it. It was awesome. Love Hattie Mae.

Tonight I saw a hilarious play, H*** Hath No Fury like a Woman Scorned, that featured Patrice Lovely and Cheryl "Pepsi" Riley. The play shared a message that showed the journey that a woman took back her life and forgave the man that stomped on her heart in order to live. I loved everything about this play and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. This is a must see, whether itself by yourself or with a group of friends. Keep the plays coming!

I have enjoyed All my Children and One Life to Live and I was praying that I can watch a show that is full of drama. When I heard The Have and The Have Nots were coming on I knew I wanted to watch it. It was a little slow at first but God knows it's wonderful and I can't stop watching the show. I AM HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yes Hooked..........I finally have a show I can watch and cry AT THE SAME TIME. Thanks Tyler Perry for bringing this out and writing about this because this reminds me of my family. The ups and downs, the trials and tribulations and everything that everyone is going through even though they are acting. When Candace lost her brother yes I went through that and I cried after that scene because I lost my own brother almost 3 years ago in June and I am still hurt by that. I love all of the characters especially Hannah. She have a spirit about her that I love. Thanks again for writing the show and I pray that you continue to do that and more.

Previously, I saw commercials for the show " have or have nots" but never really sat down to watch it as, there are other shows that compete for my weekly schedule. After all my favorite shows have ended for the season and or ran there corse, I turned my attention to on Demand. I have very little down time so when I get a chance to relax after I put my child down to bed, I watch my shows. Anyhow. After seeing the commercials for the show I decided to give it a try. I watch all episodes they have on comcast on demand which was only episode 6,7,8 & 9. After 9, I planned on watching the rest of the season of 2013 and then move on to this season which started in January 2014. I have search this website, own, YouTube, Hulu, googled episode 10,11,12 etc. NOTHING!!!! Not one episode! Episode 10 aired July 2013 really and nothing. I feel like I been sent off, like they wanna get you into something and once your hooked, that's it! You can't watch no more episodes beyond what they show on OWN randomly or clips of previous, previous episodes. What kinda bs is that??? Did you know this Tyler? That got your viewers messed up and I am irritated about it. I should be able to want your previous shows when ever my happy self feels like it. The fact that I have searched for previous episodes of your show " have it have nots 2013" is crazy! You run this right?? I am sure if you knew how much play your show would get, if your marketing team would market it to everyone and make it AVAILABLE more folk would actually enjoy this show and more folk would know what TP is all about. Drama, action and some more.... Help! Really, I was so mad after all my time spent to view the rest of the show & couldn't find it anywhere!!!! I am HOT!!!! HOT!!! Ugggghhhhhhh & that's all I have to say about that. PS... OWN y'all wrong for not making all episodes and especially this show available to view on your website. You got two bogus opera interviews; that nobody under 30 wants to watch. HARPO you coulda kept that! Work it out!

I LOVE this show! I've seen every episode from both the first, and second seasons...most of them more than once! I hope Mr. Perry continues to nurture the relationship between Hannah & Katherine. One of my favorite things is that I see such parallels to Alice & Charlotte from The Family That Preys. It's such a powerful friendship that is so moving...I hope it stands strong in the storm! Crystal Fox is incredible. Do you all remember her scene with Peter Parros (David Harrington) in Season 1 where she asks David to pray with her? OH DEAR LAAWWWWWD! What a performance from both actors! I was a mess! So good. Equally impressive was the performance from Angela Robinson (Veronica) when Jeffrey tells his parents he's gay. I would never condone such words from a mother but the way she delivered the dialogue, and reactions from the other two actors, just made for one incredible scene. Well done to Mr. Perry and all the cast members. I hope this show continues for a long time. I am hooked!!!

Shayna I do agree with you 100%. I am TOTALLY HOOKED on this show and for the repeated shows I can watch them shows 24/7. My favorite character of all on the show is all of them. I have no specific character but that Amanda ohh boy that's all I have to say on that part. Can't wait until the Next season.

I watched ABC soaps for over 40 years. When they ended I was in mourning. I was glad to see Tina Sumpter face and gave the show a try. I had never watched OWN before this. Show started out kind of slow but I get that you gotta get some of the characters played out in the beginning. Yes some of the story lines were a little iffy but as it grew momentum I began liking it more and more. These last episodes have been really good. Although I can do without the hymns and the singing. Can't wait for more and enjoy watching the progression. Catherine is wonderful and Candace is great. Looking forward to what's coming up.

The Haves And The Have Nots, in my opinion, is the best new show since slice bread, lol. I have loved this show from the first day it aired! Although the second season is my favorite, I was a bit disappointed the way it ended. It had me wanting more and more and MORE! It's like I had eaten, but I wasn't full. I am happy that the show is coming back in May. Thank you Mr. Perry and OWN for not having the fans wait too long for the new episodes. I can't begin to express how much I am looking forward to THATHN in May! Thank you Mr. Perry for sharing your God given talents with us. You are doing a great job, so please keep it up. Btw, the actors and actresses are totally awesome. Peace...
